iStat battery is a simple widget to monitor your laptops battery with a striking design and two different views. more>> Kotoba is a simple aid for increasing your Japanese vocabulary. It is based on the not so unconvential idea that increased exposure to words will help consolidate your memory of them. The implementation of this idea is by repeatedly showing words in a small window that you can keep visible in the background while you work on your stuff.
The program can be set to show the kanji first, then the kana reading, and the translation and any possible comments, or vice versa. Words can be displayed manually, using navigation buttons or the arrow keys, or automatically via an adjustable timer. Multiple dictionaries can be created and edited. Editing is very flexible as Kotoba supports drag-and-drop, searching, as well as import and export of text files.

Battery Monitor is a simple application that records the performance of your battery over a discharge cycle by writing the power and estimated remaining time to a text file every minute. You can then use this list of values to see if it works as it should. (E.g., does it discharge fully or does it break down prematurely?)
Note that this tool does nothing magical. It simply records to a file what you can see when you use a stop watch and look at the battery indicator in the control strip or menu bar.
Since the values of every minute get recorded, you can use the output also to iport into a spreadsheet for making nice graphs. Its up to you to figure out how to do that.
