Capture Me 1.4.1
Capture Me - Screen capture tool with DVD support more>>
Capture Me is very easy to use - just drag and resize the floating window to cover the area you want to capture. Then click in the window to capture the screenshot. You can resize it, copy it to the clipboard, and save it in a variety of formats and locations. Its behavior is customizable with respect to what happens after a capture.
What advantage does Capture Me hold over the built in OS X screencapture facility? For some tasks, the answer is simple - there is none - the built in capture is elegant and easy to use.
However, there are occasions when its nice to be able to choose what file format your capture saves in, copy it to the clipboard without holding down four keys at once, or resize it on the fly.
Its also common to want to take successive shots of the exact same position on the screen without moving the capture region at all, or make all your captures the same size.
These tasks are trivial with Capture Me, but difficult at best with the built in utilities. Another possible use is as a floating capture pad - see the comments in the review section for an example of one user who does this.
Main features:
- Free!
- Globally floating capture window.
- Fast screen captures (uses OpenGL).
- Ability to down scale captures (proportionally or not).
- Save as PNG, JPEG, JPEG 2000, TIFF, or GIFF.
- Adjustable translucency of capture window.
- Nifty capture sound.
- Options to auto-save to desktop, auto-copy to clipboard, etc.
- Barest beginnings of AppleScript support.
- Written with Cocoa - native to Mac OS X.
- Universal binary - Intel, PPC native.

Allows you to be up to date with the latest projects developed by Niko Pavlidis. more>> Wordsmith.org runs a mailing list called A.Word.A.Day. Its a great service and Ive been a subscriber for a number of years. However, I can never retain the vocab word I get each day. I get a new e-mail in the morning, look at the word, think to myself "Oh, thats an interesting word. I should try and remember that one", and then off I go to start my day. So I hit upon an idea based on those "Word A Day" desk calendars: what if I wrote an app that displayed the current word of the day on my screen so that anytime I wasnt doing anything, Id see the word. After several days of work, AWAD Desktop was created.<<less

Locations - Watch webcam images from the internet on your iPhone. more>> Locations - Watch webcam images from the internet on your iPhone.
Locations is a native iPhone application to watch webcam images whenever you want and wherever you are. I enjoy using the weather app on the iPhone a lot, but I always felt something is missing.
Ok, I can see the forecast with temperature values and an icon illustrating if it is raining, snowing or whatever. But this isnt enough for me, I want to see how the weather is. There was actually no application able to do all that, so I decided to make it myself.

GeoIP Lookup Widget 0.2
GeoIP Lookup Widget - Visualize location of IPs in Google Earth more>>
Have you ever wondered where the heck in the world was the IP Address 158.42.4.23 that you see in your blog statistics? Once there was an app called Visualroute that tried to plot on a 2D world map each hop on the route from your computer to that IP address.
But, man... 2D sucks! I want to see the route in that gorgeous Google Earth 3D map! So I built this service that creates Google Earth Plugins using geographical information from My IP Address lookup service.
