There are three common encodings for ancient Greek on Macintoshes: Beta Code, SMK GreekKeys from Scholar's Press, and SuperGreek/LaserGreek from Linguist's Software. If you don't know about these, you probably don't need GreekConverter.
These three encodings have their strengths and weaknesses, and many classicists find themselves using at least two, if not all three. That can be a hassle.
