Gmail Browser is a nice and easy-to-use browser that is dedicated to running Gmail (and Google calendar).
Why? Well, for me, reading email is usually a work activity, while web browsing is mostly play. And so, when I check my email, I easily get distracted by other web sites.
Separating Gmail from the rest of the internet helps me concentrate.
Gmail Browser is an enhanced version of an idea I saw here. The enhancements are:

GmailX 0.1.2 is a product known as a starter for the libgmail project. Most people find it terrifying to open that Terminal application, and actually do some hocus-pocus in it. To be honest, I was (and maybe still am) one of those persons. However, never try, never win, they say...
GmailX just starts the gmailpopd.py and gmailsmtp.py files in python, which allows to check your mail via POP3 in for example "Mail.app". However, the fact that GmailX is just a go between, means that the program itself doesnt affect the results you will get in your mail application. This depends entirely on libgmail and gmailpopd. With the introduction of the SMTP ability in GmailX, it is possible to send mails through your Gmail account from within your mail application.
Enhancements:
- Added SMTP support: you can now send mails through your Gmail Account from within your Mail application
- Program is now Applescript based (hopefully this will help in future to eliminate the path-problem)
