ClamXav 2.0 beta is a powerful virus checker. While there are currently no viruses which affect OS X, you can never be too sure. If you have any friends/colleagues using Windows (or indeed if you use MS Office on OS X), then you really ought to be checking every file you send/receive. Don't forget, VirtualPC can become infected just like any ordinary Windows PC.
While the app itself is quite small to download, don't let that fool you. It's very powerful and effective. I run it against all my incoming email and every file I download from the web and it's amazing just how many viruses fly in from unprotected friends and games websites. 3DOSX 2.0 Beta brings you the convenience of using an efficient 3D file system browser, which allows you to open multiple folder and disk hierarchies and move about them in three dimensions.
Almost everything you do in the finder can be done in the same way using 3DOSX. (To open a file or expand a folder, double-click it. To Get Info, hit Command-I.) As you browse your file system, folders will expand into "platters" containing all items within that folder.
To scroll through a large list of items, click and hold on the platter and move your mouse to the left or right. If the platter is not big enough to display every item, it hides some of them in a "magic box" in back. As you scroll, items will disappear into the magic box and reappear as you scroll in the other direction.
