Front Row on the Big Screen 1.0
Front Row on the Big Screen is a high-speed and powerful program which is capable of complete control over what display Front Row uses on your Mac. more>> Front Row on the Big Screen 1.0 is a high-speed and powerful program which is capable of complete control over what display Front Row uses on your Mac.
If you have multiple displays connected to your Mac and you have tried to use Front Row, you have discovered that Front Row only wants to play on your primary display (the one with the menu bar). If you want Front Row to play on the big screen TV connected to your iMac, or through a projector connected to your Macbook, you need to change your display preferences to move the menu bar to the secondary display, and then move it back to your normal configuration when done. Not very convenient, is it?
Front Row on the Big Screen fixes all that. Simply run it, and choose which display Front Row should use. Now Front Row will use that display, without moving your menu bar. So when you are done with Front Row, you can continue using your Mac as if nothing ever happened.

NotLight 1.4
NotLight - Simple Spotlight substitute more>>
I wrote this because I got sick and tired of Tigers lousy Spotlight interface. (How lousy is it? The magnifying-glass menu is a fake menu; it behaves oddly, and doesnt show all the matches. The Spotlight window looks like something from the Windows world: it works like a web browser, you cant easily navigate it with the keyboard, you have to keep pressing the "i" buttons just to learn where a file is, and so on. The Finder window requires that you jump through all sorts of hoops just to find a file by name. Worst of all, none of these front ends give you access to the real power of Spotlight: they automatically do wildcard searches, they dont let you do exact searches, they dont let you specify case-sensitivity or word-based searches, and they dont let you construct complex boolean searches with AND, OR, and NOT - or if they do, it isnt clear how.)
So I wrote this substitute, in order to access the real Spotlight.
This front end is very simple: the only searches you can do are filename and content. But you can use wildcards or not, specify word-based, case-insensitive, and diacritic-insensitive searches, and construct complex searches with AND, OR, and NOT. Youre shown the actual search query in Spotlights native query language. Results are a simple list of filename and paths.
Enhancements:
- Added ability to view file sizes in the Results listing.
- Added support for CocoaTech Path Finder.
- Interface tweaks: all checkboxes and operator popup are reset in accordance with search key popup selection; additional attributes reorderably by drag and drop
- Massive code cleanup, many small bug fixes.
