Fractality 0.6
Fractality is a very tractable and powerful sound tool. more>>
Fractality 0.6 is a very tractable and powerful sound tool. One of the ultimate time-wasting applications, Fractality is a toy and/or tool for creating polygonal fractals. Like geometric fractals, polygonal fractals are repetitive patterns following certain mathematical algorithms. Yet polygonal fractals are simpler, usually more symmetric, and often much more beautiful. They follow repeating patterns of simple algorithmic commands, and are essentially geometric shapes repeating on themselves over and over again.
Fractality is an original tool made to create and manipulate almost every aspect of these fractals. In Fractality, you have easy control over basic controls, like the number of iterations or the size of the fractal, and over precise iterative controls, like the angle of rotation per iteration, or the ability to cut off certain fingers. In addition, for beautification purposes, you have control over the color of the fractal, from beginning to end and even how fast the transition is.
For mathematical study or simple delight in not working, Fractality is the tool to use. The application utilizes easy-to-use controls in manipulating the fractals, and a templates menu for a place to start. Send us a copy of your favorite fractal!
Enhancements:
- Fractality is undergoing heavy development and is a pre-release state. You can download a public preview of Fractality below or to the right, but be sure you realize this is a beta application and comes with no guarentees. It is offered as-is and we will take no responsibility for anything it may do to your system. Please be sure, however, that we offer only the best intentions and hope you will take advantage to look at this preview and offer your comments and suggestions.
- Major changes since the last release:
- Quick color buttons correctly working
- Drawer toggle commands work on a per-document basis instead of application-wide
- Drawer controls work on a per-fractal basis instead of application-wide
- Tooltips are more helpful and say the right things
- Most memory leaks should be fixed
- Known Issues:
- Export to JPEG is vertically inverted
- Trouble with 1 iteration fractal drawing
- No dirty window support yet, lacks undo features
- Some truncating of long floats in precise iteration controls
- Major Planned features: Export to multiple image formats in ready-set sizes (for easy export to desktop pictures)
- Speed it up!
Requirements: Mac OS 10.3 or later.
Power Fractal 1.4
Power Fractal - A numerically-intensive parallel graphics application more>>
Power Fractal will also compute correctly on single processor machines and non-G4/G5s.
Enhancements:
- Universal Application release for mixed clusters of PowerPC G3s, G4s, G5s and Intel Cores simultaneously.
- Reoptimized vector algorithms to use SSE on Intel.
- Endian conversions implemented for communication using MacMPI_XUB.
TeraFractal 2.0
TeraFractal - Create & display iterated fractal images more>>
But rather than forcing you to define transformations numerically, TeraFractal represents each transformation as a rectangle in a control window.
You can make adjustments by simply dragging these rectangles around with the mouse, altering the transformations translation, rotation, and scaling factors. This representation also allows you to see the properties of a given iterated function system at a glance. (See screen shot.)
TeraFractal updates the fractal image continually by using an efficient randomized algorithm that iteratively applies the transformations to a random starting point.
This real-time feedback makes it possible to create lifelike fractals in a surprisingly short time.
Carbon Fractal 2.0 Beta 3
Free carbon fractal for your Mac more>>
Fractalicious 1.0

FractalTrees X 1.5.1
FractalTrees X is a simple as well as beneficial program which is an interactive toy! more>>
FractalTrees X 1.5.1 is a simple as well as beneficial program which is an interactive toy! Play with it, draw fractal tree silhouettes, and maybe even find something useful to do with it! Otherwise, please just have fun!
Major Features:
- Features include multiple colours and gradients
- Live asynchronous, interruptible drawing
- Always-on autofit to window
- And gaussian random trees (no two are ever alike)
FractalTrees 2.0a1
FractalTrees draws silhouettes of fractal trees more>>
FractalTrees you can also introduce normal (gaussian) randomness into the length and angle of the branches.
This program is basically a toy, but maybe you will find some use for it. Someone once used the previous version to decorate their website. Everything updates in real time now, so it can be fun to play with. The tree is truly fractal in structure, because it exhibits self-similarity. Even with random elements invoked, it is still statistically self-similar.
Enhancements:
- This is a major revision. This is the first alpha release for version 2.0. The source has been substantially rewritten and is a LOT faster now. The UI is redone. The various image export options (copy and paste, export to TIFF, Print) work better now as well.
- Release notes:10.1 is no longer supported, sorry
- You might have to click "magic" twice to get a proper display in this alpha
- Drawing in real-time as you change the controls is not supported in this alpha
- Full source code is included (GPL)
- Colour rotation is supported in the default (spectrum) view using the circular slider.
Fractal Paths 2.0.2b17
Fractal Paths is a powerful fractal generator and renderer more>>
Fractal Paths lets you draw a path, or an ordered set of points connected by lines. It then turns it into a fractal by repeatedly replacing all the lines with copies of the original shape.
Each time it does this its called an iteration, and fractal paths supports up to 500 iterations. Fractal Paths shows a live preview of the fractal behind your path as you draw & edit the path.
Full documentation is included along with several examples. Documentation is accessible through the help menu, along with contact information. If something is missing in the documentation, you find a bug, or you just have a question or comment send me an email.
Main features:
- Full support for multiple renderings and and drawing at once
- Saving and reopening saved fractals
Fractal Chaos 1.0.2-10

Fractalicious is an application which calculates vectorbased fractals (that means, no Mandelbrot etc., but ferns, trees, etc.). iPhone Fractalicious is very fun and easy to use - use two fingers ("pinch") for moving, zooming and even rotating the fractal (note the "and"!), or drag a control point to change angles and proportions.
System requirements:
- iPhone or iPod Touch
