Foswiki is an enterprise collaboration and information sharing tool targeted for professional use in many types of companies: from small businesses to large organizations.
What makes Foswiki special is that it supports the embedding of active and passive macros that enhance the page content (e.g., with global and/or dynamic information) and allow end-users to build applications that store and process data in a structured manner.
Foswiki is a wiki: fundamentally, a website with editable web pages. Foswiki looks like a normal web site but it encourages contributions, questions, edits, updates, and answers from its users.
Foswikis a powerful way of enabling a community to communicate asynchronously using intranet and public internet websites. Foswiki is simple to learn and use.
Foswiki aims to provide a transparent way for you to publish and exchange your ideas with others over the web and eliminates the one-webmaster syndrome of outdated intranet content.
Foswiki is a structured wiki with tools that enable users without programming skills to build powerful yet simple applications to process information and support workflows. Developers can extend the functionality of Foswiki with plugins.

JumpBox for the Foswiki Wiki System 1.1.2 is known as a useful wiki system that is notable for its approachability for non-technical users and its ability to store content in a structured fashion.

Major Features:

  1. A simple WYSIWYG editor means there's no need to learn special markup syntax.
  2. Email addresses can be added to a wiki page and the users will receive notifications as changes are made.
  3. Easily attach files to any wiki page and either view them in-line or as a separate attachment.
  4. Add forms to your wiki pages to accept structured content submissions.
  5. Be great for any project that requires collaborative note-taking. It offers a more shallow learning curve for the less-technical user given its usage of a mature WYSIWYG content editor. Simply cut & paste content from other sites or reference external pages from within your wiki page.
  6. Take the place of the JumpBox for Enterprise Wiki. Users of JumpBox for Enterprise Wiki 1.0.5 and later can upgrade to the JumpBox for Foswiki.
  7. Take the pain out of server software deployments.
  8. A JumpBox packages an application's software, dependencies, and application data into a single virtual appliance that deploys locally, or hosted to major virtualization, and cloud computing platforms. Deploy on Windows, Mac, or Linux using virtualization platforms like VMware, Xen, Parallels, Virtual Iron, Microsoft Virtualization, and Amazon EC2.
  9. Provide an intuitive user interface to quickly guide users through deployment.

Enhancements:

  • Has been updated to Foswiki version 1.0.7.
