Type Fixer was originally written for Mac OS X, where sometimes plain text files without creator and type codes (such as those produced by TextEdit) are changed to SimpleText files, meaning that Classic will start up if you double click on the file.

The creator and type codes for any file ending with ".txt" will be changed to the unknown code "????". This changes the owner application back to TextEdit. Open the droplet in the AppleScript Script Editor, change the codes and filter criterion as indicated in the script to suit your own needs, and resave it as either a Classic Applet for Mac OS 9 or earlier, or a Mac OS X Applet for Mac OS X.

Update Fixer 1.2 is developed to be a perfect solution to the fact that software Update's log folder permissions can be screwed up by installing system software updates or from other sources. Unfortunately Apple's Disk Utility "repair permissions" function doesn't fix these permissions (!).. This utility will assist to fix them so future software update installs are successfully logged. The problem affects 10.1.5 and up.

The Font Fixer utility removes all old copies of all our Accordance fonts, and reinstalls only the latest TrueType fonts in OS X. It is intended for people whose Greek, Hebrew, or other fonts are not displaying correctly.

The Accordance fonts.pdf explains the common problems and solutions. The Font Fixer is for those people who still have problems. If necessary you may rerun the 7.x installer to get a full set of fonts.

File Date Fixer 1.0 offers you a free tool allowing you to look for files and folders on your local drives with invalid creation or modification dates. Specifically, it looks for dates before 1984 or later than one year into the future. The program resets the dates on these files/folders to a date and time of your choosing ("now' by default).

Latency Fixer is a tool designed to report to the host application that it has a latency (controlled by the plug-in parameters) but does not actually apply any processing to the audio signal. This causes the host to use its own latency compensation to advance the audio fed into the plug-in by the requested amount.

This is useful to compensate for e.g. routing audio via outboard effect processors, where the audios journey out of your audio interface and back in to the computer introduces a latency into the signal. For example you may find it useful in conjunction with Logics Helper->I/O plug-in.

For it to work, the host application must support plug-in delay compensation and the feature must be turned on. Recent versions of Logic and Digital Performer support this feature, for example. (Preferences->Audio->General in Logic.)

In general applications will not respond to changes in the latency setting during playback. If you need to interactively set the latency, try setting this plug-in to a large setting and then using my Buffer Delay plug-in to experiment with different settings. Once youve found the correct values, subtract the Buffer Delay delay from the latency setting and remove the Buffer Delay plug-in.

Unfortunately Logic 6 does not respond to changes of latency at all, even when playback is stopped.

As a workaround, Latency Fixer remembers its last used settings and uses them as defaults when creating a new instance of the plug-in, which is the only time Logic 6 queries the latency. Logic 7 works properly, in that it responds to latency changes in the plug-in.

FirstClass Client 6.0 and higher is incompatible with FirstClass 5.x servers when you save your password in the settings file. The problem is that the newer client sends the password encrypted, and that the older server doesnt support encryption. This results in having to manually enter your password every time you connect, and also in not being able to use the feature that allows to connect automatically when FirstClass is launched.

FC Password Fixer lets you work around this problem. Using it is very simple and risk free, because the application makes a copy of the FirstClass settings file.
