Previously users wishing to record their old record collection had to hook up their entire stereo system just to power their turntable. Now users can connect the record player directly to their iMic, and using Final Vinyl record and save all their old albums. They can then make them into CDs, MP3s etc. Final Vinyl does more than just record old albums; it is a fully functional general audio recording application as well. It can be used to record instruments, microphones and reel-to-reel tapes plugged into the iMic.
It includes a 10-band Equalizer that is capable of significantly altering and enhancing a user's sound input. For example, inexpensive microphones could be improved by tweaking the bass response. Old worn records can be fine tuned and tonally corrected. All this and more can be done using the completely free Final Vinyl combined with the Griffin iMic.

Some, but not all, users of Final Cut Pro 1.2.5 have reported dropping frames on clips that require rendering, such as clips with filters, transitions, or motion tab settings applied to them. After rendering, playback of these clips would result in dropped frames.
NOTE: If you are not having this problem, it is not necessary to install QTM Reader version 1.2.6. This problem may be resolved by replacing the 1.2.5 version of the Final Cut Pro
plug-in, QTM Reader, found in the Final Cut Pro Plugins Folder, with a newer version 1.2.6.
To replace your plug-in:
- Download QTM Reader version 1.2.6
- Make sure that Final Cut Pro is not running
- Open the Plugins folder inside of the Final Cut Pro application folder
- Find the plug-in called QTM Reader
- Create another folder inside of your Final Cut Pro application folder (NOT inside of the Plugins folder) called Unused Plugins, and put QTM Reader inside of it
- Now, put QTM Reader version 1.2.6 inside of the Plugins folder. It is important to keep the old version of QTM Reader for possible future use. With these steps completed, you can launch Final Cut Pro pro again. No restart is necessary.
NOTE: After updating to 1.2.6, try playing back your previously rendered sequences to make sure that they no longer drop frames. If there are areas in your project that are still dropping frames on playback, rerendering should fix this.
