King Me! is a nice and challenging game that will ley you play checkers. Its programming or code does not contain artificial intelligence. It does not learn the game of checkers or how to improve play.

It does calculate a finite quantity of possible moves from any given board with the piece positions on it.

Once you move your checker, King Me! will create a set of possible moves. From each of those moves, King Me! will create another set of moves branching in to a depth. King Me! then evaluates each possible move branch and chooses the move with the highest score. This does not mean it is the best possible move.

I, the programmer of this computer game, have often beat King Me!. King Me! does not know how do position checkers. It simply calculates how many checkers are on the board and makes an evalution.

I am uncertain if King Me! follows all of the national checker rules properly. The intention of King Me! was not to create a tornament machine, but to have fun at your computer. It is more like Saturday-afternoon-fun-with-my-children checkers, rather than professional checkers, if there is such a thing. Enjoy!

GoogleFill is a plug-in for the Mac OSX address book that will automatically fill in a US address based on the phone number using a google reverse search.

What does this do?
Its actually harder to explain than to actually show it....
I own a Treo 650 cell phone... Great phone and one of the features it has is when you dial a number not in the address book it says "Do you want to add this number?"


So I end up with lots of numbers in my cell phone address book without any corresponding information (e.g. who it is, where they are from, etc.). GoogleFill is my solution to the problem.

Say I got a call from 202-456-1111 and I said allowed the phone to add it to its address book. The next time I synced up with my mac the number would show up without any details... To use it simple click on the phone number.

It will use google to try to find a name and Address for the phone number listed. If its succesful it will tell you (if not it should also tell you it couldnt). In this case we are in luck! Now I remember, this is when George W called me to ask me a favor!

Link Me!/Open Me! is an interesting set of scripts! "Link Me!" will allow you to place a link button to another QuarkXPress document on the current documents layout. When run, the script will prompt you for the document to "link to" and then create a picture box containing an icon on the top left of the current page.

It will also place a text box containing the name of the "link to" file next to the picture box.

Select both boxes (group them if you like) and move them to the pasteboard or wherever you desire. The text box containing the "link to" doc name is created for your convienince and may be deleted if you want since the picture box contains the link!

To open "link to" documents, select the link icon boxes representing the files to open (dont worry if theyre grouped since the script will find "see" them anyway), and run the "Open Me!" script--it will open all "link to" documents. If a "link to" document has been moved to another location, the script will offer to find every matching file and open them. The "Open Me!" script requires the scriptable Finder that ships with system 7.5 or higher.

If you have a website with a CGI form which is completed by users and sent to you as an email, and you would like the information supplied by each user to be entered automatically in a new Entourage Contact card in your Address Book filling relevant fields, use Fill Contact from Form (Entourage) to do so.
You can run it from a Mail Rule so that it deals with the messages automatically as they come in.
