Formido is one of those games, where you are loaded with some guns and you go shooting different things. Things in this case are big, ugly, - not green though - alien insects. The idea is to kill as many of those bastards as possible.
Eventually they will overcome you, but struggle as long as you can. There are some power-ups to aid you in your honorable quest. Keep in mind, that those critters are rather tough and generally do nasty things when in close range of any player-characters.

One of the things I hate about Cocoa is its localization system. The first time you look at it, it looks really great. I mean, compared to REALBasic, or Java, or even Qt… at least it’s has one. But, you see, the problem is that sometimes it creates more problem than it solves.

Let me explain: say you’re creating an amazing Cocoa app. You develop it in english until you get to a Release Candidate. Now’s the time to localize it… right, you do the job (it’s never pleasant to localize nibs). Ahh, okay done… You release your app! It’s the “next big thing” and you become rich (or not).

With all this fame you get wonderful feedback and even get it localized in 15 different languages. Wow, now’s the time for a 1.1. With all the feedback you’ve got you’ve decided to make a few big UI changes. The thing is, not only do you need to modify your english nib(s), but you also need to make the same changes to every other language’s nibs!!! Alright, since you’ve got no choice, you do it. The thing is: there is a high probability you will make a mistake without noticing (it happened to me once). What then happens is you ship with a faulty localizations, you get lots of weird complain email in Japanese, and… you’re screwed!

The only boring and time-consuming solution is to thoroughly test the new UI in every localization before releasing. This is especially time-consuming as you have to change the language settings in System Preferences every time you want to change the localization. Also, another downside of this is that it changes your whole computer (well, just your session, but whatever…). I personally don’t really like to use a computer in Chinese…

That’s where LangSwitch comes in… It gives you a simple GUI way to switch the localization for only the app you’re testing. It displays only the localizations avaiable for your app. LangSwitch is an easy tool designed to test your different localizations without the hassle.

Explore! is a desert exploration game in the spirit of the classic adventure games of the olden days. It is a game by Durandal Brytting, of minor fame as connoisseur of old Mac games.

Like most of the games, it strives to return to the good old days when games lasted. Also, I’m pretty sure that it’s an educational game for your kids. If nothing else they might learn some long words and what a desert rose is.

Blixx 2.1 is an interesting game which allows players to bounce a ball with a paddle or shoot a bullet from the paddle to burst floating bubbles.

If a bubble hits the paddle, however, a life is lost. There are also falling bonus squares and acid rain, which must not hit the paddle, with which to contend. Blixx includes 15 levels of increasing difficulty. There are also difficulty settings and 3 practice modules to bring you up to speed in a hurry.

A "Hall of Fame" stores the players highest scores. Two bonus levels are also included. Blixx is an easy to learn but challenging game. Users will most likely take several days of playing to complete the 15th level.

Instructions:

• Bounce the red ball off of the paddle. When the ball hits a bubble, the bubble bursts. Move the paddle with the mouse. Control the direction of the ball by where it hits on the paddle. Speed up the ball with the edges of the paddle, slow down the ball with the middle.
• Shoot the bubbles with a bullet from the middle of the paddle. Press the Spacebar to fire. You cannot fire another bullet until the first bullet leaves the screen.
