FreeMat includes several novel features such as a codeless interface to external C/C++/FORTRAN code, parallel/distributed algorithm development (via MPI), and plotting and visualization capabilities. FreeMat is available under an MIT-type license. Supported platforms include Linux, Windows and Mac OS X.
Its been nearly a year (!) since the last release of FreeMat. A new version is now ready for testing. I have elected to release it as a Release Candidate instead of a full release because of the significant changes that have been made since version 1.1.

Flagfox is an extension for Mozilla Firefox that shows a flag icon in the status bar indicating the current websites server location..
The Flagfox extension consumes little resources, and works accessing an IP address database that contains roots like ".com" or ".uk".
Clicking the icon loads Geotool, which provides a map of the location as well as more information such as the ISP and city. The context menu also provides quick access to information about the country of origin, as well as the ability to lookup the sites registrant via Whois.
Note: The Flagfox add-on is cross-platform and it works on Mac OS X, Windows and Linux.

Yould uses Markov chains trained on a large body of prose. It records the frequency of letter transitions in the text then generates random number and pick letter transtition with the closest frequency. A Markov chain may use an arbitrary number of memory states. Yould uses two past states. The result is good with English and French but is produces many impossible words in Finnish.
