MenuBall is an absolutely useless control panel that puts a bouncing ball in your menu bar. It wont slow down your Mac and it shouldnt crash (but use it at your own risk). Should the ball ever leave a mark in your menu bar, dont panic: it is harmless, just switch to another application to have the menu bar redrawn properly.
Theres only one smart use for MenuBall: since the ball moves one step at each WaitNextEvent call, you can use it to monitor the system activity. If the ball stops, the Mac probably wont respond to user actions and may even be hung; if it moves slowly, the front application is being friendly to other processes and giving up a lot of processor time; if it moves fast, then the front application is eating most of the CPU time (and possibly wasting it).
If you can stand MenuBall for more than half an hour, youve earned it.

JewelToyX is a puzzle game you play against the clock.
It was Easter and the kids were home so I thought Id give my work on my other projects a break and do something else.
I knocked this up for fun and learned some important lessons about using custom subclasses of NSView and internationalization at the same time.
It took me about a week to go from idea to version 1.0.0, including some tricksy debugging and designing all the graphics for the game. Im sure I couldnt have done this as quickly using anything other than Apples Cocoa IDE.
Enhancements:
- Some memory leaks plugged.
- Improved Japanese localizations, thanks to Aaron Madlon-Kay.
