The new Extract Files Action for OS X Automator allows you to extract any combination files by file extension or file type. This is very useful for video and photo workflows. For example you could extract all jpg, tiff and gif and then use another action to resize them all to the same size. The Extract Files Action will recursively search all the included subfolders for the file extensions or types specified.
To use this action enter file extensions in the form txt, jpg, mp3. Note that the items are separated by a comma and a space. do not use a period before the file extension such as .txt, .jpg, .mp3. The same is true for the file types.

While monitoring a webcam, FrameUp! lets you pause the action, rewind, or step through the previous images!
With FrameUp you just start dragging an image file, show the Dashboard (by pressing F12,) and then drop inside the frame. You can drag images directly from your iPhoto Library and even right from Safari or other web browsers.
To monitor a webcam, just drag the webcam image from your browser to FrameUp! and set the refresh interval on the back of the frame. Youll need the actual webcam image which can usually be obtained by control clicking on the webcam image and choosing "Copy Image Address".
Then paste the address in the browsers address field to load the image. Then drag the resulting image to FrameUp!
