EXIF.py is a Python library to extract EXIF data from tiff and jpeg files. Very easy to use - $ ./EXIF.py image.jpg.

Save/Read Data is a scripting addition for writing and reading data to/from a file. Several other scripting additions can do the same, e.g. those that come with AppleScript 1.1 or Script Tools.
This OSAX addition acts on the data fork of any file, you can read and write this data fork with some script, reading a file put it in a script container. Be carefull with some Fat application data fork they can handle some code for Power Mac.

Background
Digital cameras attach information to each photo you take. This information - called EXIF data - contains the time-stamp, aperture and shutter time amongst other things.

However some brands of cameras also attach a lot of (arguably) extraneous data. This is inconvenient for a number of reasons, but most of all the fact that iPhoto caches all this data in its Library file resulting in slower operation after each new import of photos. Affected camera brands include: Casio, Konica Minolta, Kyocera, Nikon and Pentax - amongst others.

Purpose
This application will seamlessly clean your photos of extraneous exif data prior to importing into iPhoto.

Warning!
This application deletes data it believes is redundant. Please work on a backup copy of your images if you are worried about data loss. Also note that this software may not work with your images. Use at your own risk.

YE DATA Custom Icon 1.0 is considered as an impressive and unique utility which solves a simple annoyance with digital media card readers.

Instead of getting generic "removable media" icons went inserting a media card. A hi-resolution icon that actually represents the media card inserted is displayed on the desktop and finder. The custom icons make it much easier to find the right media card you want to access and it is also much more visualy pleasing. The drive will only work with card readers manufacturered by YE Data.

Data Bank is a really simple program which just organizes key-value pairs in a vaguely useful arrangement.

The important aspect of the program, however, is that it demonstrates how to use plug-ins which share code with the host application. It also uses Cocoa Bindings for the UI and data organization.
To facilitate the code sharing, it shows the creation and use of embedded code frameworks. Includes plug-ins to export to a raw text file, an XHTML web page, or a directory of text files (suitable for storage on an iPod to be used as digital flashcards).

Backup Entourage Data will back up your Microsoft User Data folder once per day. It keeps the older backup for an additional day, so if your database gets damaged and you dont notice quickly, you can go to the previous backup as well.

This application requires that your Microsoft User Data folder is in the Documents folder on your startup drive, which is the default. Youll need to have free space on your hard drive equal to double the size of your Entourage data.

Entourage should not be running while Backup Entourage Data is runing.
