HoudahGPS is a front end to the open source command line tool GPSBabel.
HoudahGPS allows you to transfer track log and waypoint data from your Garmin, Magellan or Wintec GPS devices. It connects via USB to the Garmin and Magellan devices. It interfaces with the Wintec WBT-100, WBT-101 and WBT-201 devices using Bluetooth.
HoudahGPS can also be used to convert between the GPX, NMEA and KML log file formats. The Sony GPS-CS1 track logger uses a special variant of the NMEA format which may also be read.

PassagePlus 1.6.2 brings you a simple but highly effective passage planning and navigation application aimed at the leisure boating market. It is compatible with the UK Hydrographic Office's ARCS Skipper, Land Information New Zealand's NZMariner and the Australian Hydrographic Service's Seafarer RNC electronic charts. Passage planning includes the creation or import of waypoints and routes and the input of tidal information. Navigation can be by means of an attached GPS or by traditional means such as bearing fix and dead reckoning. It also supports the detection of other vessels by AIS.

PhotoGPSEditor 1.6 is known an easy to use meta-data editor for photo (JPEG, RAW, or Tiff) files and it is also capable of matching data from GPS (gpx or NMEA) files. The program is freeware, however, donatations can be made to help support future development. With PhotoGPSEditor you can add location and summary details to a JPEG, RAW or Tiff files. Location information consists of latitude and longitide data, as well as town, area/region, and country. This can be added automatically by matching up photos with GPS (gpx or NMEA) file track data, manually (just type it in) or 'automatically' by placing a pointer on a map to get the latitude and longitide data. The program can then add town, area/region, and country information. This process can also be described as 'geocoding' a picture/photo.

The GeoTagging Automator Action automatically tags your images with geographical coordinates and elevation data from a GPS track file.

GeoTagging Automator Action will support a great range of image formats, including many raw image formats like Nikon NEF, Canon CR2 and Adobe DNG.

How to use it:

• Take your GPS receiver with you while shooting.
• Download the resulting GPS track file to your Mac (perhaps using the GPS Automator Actions).
• Now the GeoTagging Automator Action uses the time and location recorded by your GPS and the capture time embedded in your images to determine the correct location of your picture.
• You can use this information to organize your images, plot the images to maps or display it in Google Earth (functionality to establish these things will be included in the final release).

NoSweat - Garmin Forerunner 201 download utility.

NoSweat is a new project to write a GPS enabled Exercize Logbook. It started as a cross platform replacement to the Forerunner Logbook software (for my Forerunner 201) and has grown. The current release only downloads runs from the forerunner and writes them to an xml file (forerunner logbook format) as a demostration of progress, but more is on the way. Also, Im releasing first on the Mac, but plan Linux, Solaris, and Windows versions. This uses the GPSLib4J library, RXTX, and xmlbeans.
