DVD Stopper has only a small change to the loop movie applet that comes with DVD Player 3.1. Instead of looping the movie when it reaches the end, it stops the DVD Player. I made it cause I watch some DVDs and fall asleep while they play and then am awakened by some of the nightmarish loops that are used for menus.

DVD Imager 1.6 is a smart tool with which you can create burnable DVD disk images based on a DVD video disk that you have made using iDVD, or other means. Mac OS X 10.2 is required. Just drop any VIDEO_TS folder onto its icon and choose the location where you want the image saved. Destination should be on a local volume.

DVD Imager will prompt you to name the image volume, create the disk image, then quit. If you have a DVD burner, you should then be able to create a new DVD disk using the Burn command in Disk Copy. MacTheRipper is a freeware DVD ripper (extractor) for Mac OS X. It is dependent upon the open-sourced libdvdread and libdvdcss libraries. We also use the tocgen program in certain modes, which is a part of the dvdauthor project.

That being said, MacTheRipper removes CSS encryption, Macrovision protection, sets the discs region code to 0 for region-free by default, and is capable of removing RCE region protection as well, making an unrestricted copy of any DVD movie you own.
It doesnt rely on the DVD drive to get the CSS decryption keys, so that means that you do not need to play the DVD with DVD Player in order to rip it to your hard drive unprotected.
MacTheRipper is also able to extract discs with the new ARccOS protection, as well as most DVDs that have been damaged or improperly mastered.
MTR is also capable of removing UOPs, or User Operation Prohibitions, which are the settings that prevent you from skipping or fast-forwarding certain parts of DVDs, such as FBI warnings, previews, logos, intros, etc.
