The RD-5 Real Drums module serves up tons of sampled drum kits and percussion. The EB-6 Electric Bass delivers authentic bass fingering, picking, slapping and more. The LC-7 Loop Creator allows easy and flexible creation and playback of sampled loops. And the BL-8 Bassline is ideal for creating electronic music bass lines.
The master MIDI/Mixer section lets you route, split, layer and mix these four powerful modules in whatever way best suits your performance and recording needs.
A master effects section even allows for adding a common effect in addition to the individual effect section included with each instrument.
Beat It
The RD-5 Real Drums module features a comprehensive library of drum kits and individual drums in all styles, with control over tuning, tone, decay, panorama and level. Each kit also has adjustable overheads, room ambience and effects. All kits are GM-compatible and contain an additional standard percussion set.
Put Your Finger On Great Bass
The EB-6 Electric Bass module produces the sounds of authentically played electric bass guitars. This extensive collection includes a large selection of finger, pick, slap and fretless sounds featuring slides, dead notes and harmonics. The EB-6 also includes a built-in bass amp emulation with drive and tone controls, as well as an effects section for creative options. This electric bass collection is even topped off by a virtual analog synth bass model.
Get Loopy
The LC-7 Loop Creator is one of the most efficient and creative tools available for working with loops. Its pool of 250 source loops can be freely combined and flexibly manipulated by options such as slice-reordering, slice muting or group muting of ranges of slices. The LC-7 Loop Creator is designed for people who want their own loops but find it hard to create them from scratch. It also offers a vast range of real-time controls for dynamic playing/arranging.
Keep Em Steppin
The BL-8 Bassline module is a monophonic bass synthesizer combined with a powerful arpeggiator/step sequencer. Synth controls are straightforward and immediately accessible. An onscreen keyboard provides a familiar step-entry interface pioneered on vintage gear in this genre.
Multiple Effects
These virtual instrument modules each feature their own dual effects processors for delay, chorus, phaser and more. There s also a master effects section that further processes the combined output of all modules.
Flexible Mixing and Assignment
You get an internal mixer and assignment controls that allow you configure independent MIDI channels for each module. But that s not all you can easily create splits and layers for things like left-hand bass with right-hand drums and other performance configurations.
Use It Your Way
M-Audio s virtual racks let you use them as stand-alone instruments or with most host sequencers. Lots of people, for example, are just taking their keyboard and laptop to live performances. Compatibility with AU, VST and RTAS on also means that you can use it as sound sources for your tracks in Pro Tools, Logic, Cubase, Ableton Live, and, well, pretty much any popular music software.

However, it is still very useful for removing more common types of noise such as "shadow noise" from underexposed photos, increased noise from high ISO photos, and "long exposure" noise that is created by taking long exposures lasting seconds or more.
Types of Noise
Shadow noise occurs in the dark areas of photos (the shadows). If a photo is underexposed and then later brightened in software with operations such as "levels" or "curves", the overall noise of the photo will be increased. However, this noise becomes especially apparent in dark and/or flat areas.
High ISO noise occurs when the ISO setting in a digital camera is increased to the higher range of its available ISO settings. However, the amount of high ISO noise depends on the camera model and especially the sensor that is used (CCD, CMOS, etc). In general, a camera that has large pixes (the area of each pixel sensor) should create less noise for a given ISO than a camera with small pixels, but other factors affect the amount of noise. An example of a sensor with large pixels would be a large sensor (e.g. for professional SLRs) with a small megapixel count (e.g. 2 megapixels). An example of a sensor with small pixels would be a small sensor (e.g. point-and-shoot digital camera) with a large megapixel count (e.g. 8 megapixels).
Long Exposure noise (or "dark current" noise) occurs when the time of exposure or the temperature is increased. This noise is really a per-pixel "noise gain" factor, and the noise pattern should be consistent for a given camera, exposure time, ISO, and temperature. One way to help reduce this noise is to subtract a "noise reference" photo taken by the camera at the same ISO, exposure time, and temperature, and in complete darkness. However, this can be a challenge to accomplish and manage.
Band Aide is designed to remove large amounts of luminance noise. Some cameras dont have much luminance noise, but rather color noise. Camera Bits recommends using the Quantum Mechanic Pro filter plug-in to remove color noise. Quantum Mechanic works differently and has only minimal effect on significant amounts of luminance noise, which is what Band Aide is designed to handle.
Noise and Sharpening
One of the biggest problems with luminance noise is that sharpening the photo will make the noise worse. This is especially true in the shadows or dark areas of a photo. Since the sharpening of photos is bound to happen at some point during pre-press, it is always a good idea to minimize the noise before sharpening your photos. In fact, the effects of reducing noise by Band Aide are most noticeable on photos that are sharpened afterwards: noisy photos sharpened directly are much worse than noisy photos that are filtered by Band Aide and then sharpened.
Here are some key features of "Band Aide":
· Cleans-up Shadow Noise
· Maintains Edge Detail
· Improves Post Sharpening.
Limitations:
· 20 uses or 2 weeks trial.
Includes 300 Keyboard/Drum/Synth/Atmo-Phrases and 24 Phrase Kits with a total size of about 350 MB in Apple Loops format. The Logic Pro version includes additional Instrument-tracks for Logic instruments like CVP88, EVB3, EVD6, EXS24. You have the choice to use audio-tracks or instrument-tracks.
