Free disabling software for mac

So, youve finally got Mac OS X.4 (Tiger). No problems, until you try the new features. You find out that you hate Dashboard &/or Spotlight (or you must disable it for some reason). Or, you find that Konfabulator is a better choice for you than Dashboard. Wouldnt it be great if you could just disable it?
Well, now you can. Thanks to the knowledge of the OS X community, FilKiFan Software is pleased to present DisableTigerFeatures! It can disable Spotlight and Dashboard, and if you ever feel like you need to re-enable them (or you are about to apply a Software Update), just press a button, and youre back to where you started.
Note: This application modifies IMPORTANT system files! Please be sure to have a backup before you attempt this!

However, due to a bug in XCode (it says that File1 has an error while File2 has exactly the same code and compiles perfectly) I had to make the message following the enabling on Dashboard very simple. While the message for disabling worked perfectly, I simplified it as well.

System requirements:
- Mac OS X 10.4 or later (10.4.1 is highly recommended)

On Macintosh computers, Photoshop can directly access up to about 3.5GB. When there is more than 3.5GB of document data, Photoshop writes data to its scratch files as necessary. On a computer with 4GB or less of RAM, the data is transferred directly between the scratch files on disk and the Photoshop RAM.

On a computer with more than 4GB of RAM, Photoshop tells the operating system to use the extra RAM as a buffer for the Photoshop scratch file. In this case, when document data no longer fits in the 3.5GB of Photoshop RAM and is written to the scratch file, the operating system stores it in the extra RAM and can retrieve it from there much faster than it could be read from disk.

The Adobe Disable VM Buffering plug-in lets Photoshop take advantage of more than 4GB of RAM to significantly increase performance with very large documents.

When this scratch file buffering is turned on with Mac OS X v.10.3 or 10.4, the operating system periodically pauses execution of Photoshop for up to several seconds at a time. This can cause problems when painting. Installing the plug-in causes Photoshop to disable the buffering so the pauses do not occur. It also means that Photoshop only takes advantage of the 3.5GB of RAM it can directly access, so performance with very large documents will decrease.

For this reason, we recommend that if you use very large documents and have no problems with pauses during painting, you should not install this plug-in.

Enable | Disable Mail Accounts is an AppleScript-based solution that allows users to quickly enable or disable multiple accounts in Mac OS Xs Mail application.

This script can be triggered from Address Books AppleScript menu.

By default, Cocoa controls accept clicks when their window is disabled. This is called click-through.
The MFClickThroughDisabler class attach itself to a NSControl and remove the click-through behaviour by disabling the control when the window is not in foreground.

However, Mac OS X Human Interface Guidelines recommend that a control with destructive or difficult to undo action disable themselves when their window is inactive to avoid accidental clicks.
