Diff'npatch 1.4.1
Diffnpatch is designed as an easy to use port to the Macintosh of the GNU diff, patch and cmp utilities. more>>
Diff'npatch 1.4.1 is designed as an easy to use port to the Macintosh of the GNU 'diff', 'patch' and 'cmp' utilities.
Major Features:
- It lets you compare and find differences between two files or folders, collate two files, generate diffs in various formats (normal, context, unidiff, etc.), apply patches, compare files byte by byte.
- It can handle any type of line endings (mac, unix or windows): Macintosh files have 'cr' line endings, Unix files have 'lf' line endings and Windows files have 'crlf' line endings. By default Diff'nPatch is able to guess the type of the files to compare. You can also specify this type explicitly.
- With Diff'nPatch, you can collate two text files: they are displayed in a special "collate window" in two adjacent frames and you can browse through the differences, apply a difference from one file to the other, save the files, etc. Use the two buttons with a curved arrow to apply a diff from the old to the new file or from the new to the old one. If you press the option key while clicking on one of these buttons, then all diffs will be applied (a dialog asks you to confirm). To go from one diff to the other, you can use the slider or the navigation keys of your keyboard. Note that the separator between the two adjacent panels is moveable: just grab it with the mouse cursor.
- You can also apply a patch, that is to say apply a file previously generated by 'diff' to an old file to restitute the new one. This is done in the 'patch' window which lets you specify a certain number of options.
- There is also a command which lets you compare files (text or binary) byte by byte. Diff'nPatch is entirely scriptable with AppleScript. More than 30 options. Various parameters can be customized via preferences.
Requirements:
- Mac OS 9 or higheror
- Mac OS X 10.0 or higher

Exibia 1.4.1
Exibia is a popular utility which permits clients in a multi-user, multi-platform environment to upload and schedule QuickTime-compatible videos to a centrally-located server. more>>
Exibia 1.4.1 is a popular utility which permits clients in a multi-user, multi-platform environment to upload and schedule QuickTime-compatible videos to a centrally-located server. The Exibia Server, connected to a CATV television system for broadcast, handles the scheduling and playback of the video content. Users of any platform can easily upload and schedule videos for playback using their web browser.
In English: Anyone with a Mac or a PC can use Exibia to schedule multimedia content to play on a school's CATV television system. Since Exibia handles the scheduling, there is no guesswork involved. No need to hook up an LCD projector or television directly to the computer, Exibia lets you effortlessly use the television equipment already in place in many schools.
Major Features:
- iCal and Web Integration.: Exibia server provides users with RSS feeds, iCal Calendar subscriptions (using industry-standard .ics calendar files) and a web interface to view and schedule content to be broadcast. Exibia can also allow users to preview the content of scheduled videos before they are broadcast.
- Easy LDAP Integration: In some environments it may be necessary to restrict the use of Exibia to certain groups of users. For example, in a school environment, administrators may want to allow only teachers and administrators to schedule video. Exibia provides easy integration with existing LDAP infrastructure, providing security for users and administrators.
- Maximize resources, minimize costs: Keeping up with the latest technology can be expensive. Purchasing LCD projectors and speaker systems for each classroom can prove to be financially impossible for many schools. Exibia helps solve this problem by utilizing the existing closed-circuit television systems found in many schools and public buildings and allows users to broadcast the content they want when they want it.
Requirements:
- Exibia Server: Any Macintosh capable of running Mac OS X 10.4.2 Client or greater with an available video output. A G4, G5 or Intel processor recommended. A large hard drive is recommended for video storage. Most schools use Mac minis as their Exibia server.
- Connection Cables: To connect the Exibia Server to your CCTV system you'll need a video out adapter and an audio cable.
- Multimedia Content: Many school districts subscribe to Discovery Education's unitedstreaming, an online video repository and educational service. Exibia works great for user-created content as well. Exibia will work with any QuickTime-compatible media, including MP3s, podcasts and videocasts.
