Sleep Script - If you want to put your Mac to sleep immediately you would normally switch to the Finder and select "Sleep" from the Special Menu.

By assigning this handy AppleScript application to one of the function keys you can accomplish the same task with a single keystroke.

To allow for an accidental function key hit, the script gives you five seconds to cancel or confirm (on later versions of the Mac Operating System) before putting your computer to sleep. This allows you to hit one key and walk away.

Logout Script is a REALbasic project that demonstrates the use of an AppleScript to logout the current user, shutdown, or restart the computer based on a single "mode" parameter to the script.

SoundJam Play is a collection of AppleScripts for SoundJam to turn the volume up and down from the Finder or any other application.

iCal Script Integrator allows you to use AppleScript straight out of iCals events by modifying its "e-mail notification" script. This means that you can let iCal schedule tasks or start applications for you.

The newer Macintosh models come with keyboards that do not sport a shutdown key. To shut down, you must go to the Finders Special menu and choose "Shut Down".

If you have one of these keyboards and would like to restore the convenience of the shutdown key, Shutdown Script will help you by assign it to one of the existing function keys, say F15.

Since its an application, its slightly slower than a true shutdown key (but otherwise just as convenient). Meant for Power PC Macs running OS 9.

You can easily dial your phone numbers from your Address Book. Choose from the phone numbers context menu and the Fritz!Box is dialing for you.
