Danger from the Deep and source code is available under the GPL license and most of the artwork/data is released under a Creative Commons license (Attribution/NonCommercial/Non-Derivative works).
DftD is currently being developed on Linux (i386 and AMD64) and Windows. There are binarys available for Linux (i386 and amd64), Windows (32bit) and there are some old packages for MacOSX.
Danger from the Deep is a program that makes use of SDL/OpenGL and thus should be portable to other operating systems or platforms.
Danger from the Deep is planned as tactical simulation and will be as realistic as our time and knowledge of physics allows. Its current state is ALPHA, but it is playable. If anyone wants to contribute in development, youre welcome, just email the dangerdeep-devel mailing list. Contributing binary packages for various Linux distributions would also be much appreciated.

CODEC is a subset of functions available already in the BASh 4D component.
In keeping with the tradition of offering high quality developer tools and services, Deep Sky Technologies, Inc., has made the CODEC component available for free to the developer community.
The CODEC component consists of two methods for the creation of MD5 digests:
CODEC_Encode_MD5_x creates a properly formatted MD5 digest directly from a supplied 4D text value.
CODEC_Encode_MD5_z creates a properly formatted MD5 digest directly from a referenced 4D BLOB value.
Both methods are immediately available for use upon installing the CODEC component. No plugins, external documents, or initialization is needed to begin using the methods. And, all of the code in the CODEC component is set up to handle even the most stringent 4D Compiler settings (e.g. All Variables are Typed).

This real-time widget pulls data from the Global Consciousness Project and performs statistics on the data to produce an indicator for the resonance and coherence of the Earth. This project is about testing to see if there is a global consciousness that we all connect to. They perform statistical analysis on the data to see trends in the supposed random data. The same statistics generated for the primary results are now performed in real time.
Random data is green. As the resonance of the global consciousness rises, the widget turns yellow, orange and red. When the widget turns red, there is a 1 in 20 chance that the data is random. (Meaning, its a rare event occurring) Blue occurs as the data variability is reduced, aka anti-coherence. Both deep red and deep blue are highly significant to the Global Consciousness Project.

The problem is, you can't view their logs from your desktop: you have to find them deep into your hard disk with Terminal! It features live updates, warning signals when the logs are modified, printing features, speaking feature...and all of this for free!
