Clipping Namer 1.3.5

Clipping Namer 1.3.5

Name those clippings and keep them in order. more>>
Finder clippings are a wonderful idea that most people dont use because theyre such a pain to deal with. Ever tried to find the rightclipping among a bunch of "Text Clipping 1", "Text Clipping 2", etc? Its not too bad with one clipping, but more than a coupleleads to long sessions in the Finder assigning useful names, wasting the time you saved.

ClippingNamer helps you manage clippings. Without leaving your current program, you can:Automatically assign a new name based on the (text) clipping contents.Automatically create a thumbnail image (icon) for picture clippings.

Popup a dialog that lets you see both ClippingNamers and the Finders suggested names, and use either one or a newname you type. You can set any of these modes (or none) as the default, and invoke any of the others with modifier keys (completelycustomizable). There are several other convenience options as well.

iMote 2.3

iMote 2.3

Control iTunes via keyboard commands. more>> Control iTunes via keyboard commands.

iMote is an an amazingly useful tool for controlling basic iTunes functions (like pausing/paying the current track, skipping to the next or previous track, etc.) from any other application.
Say youre surfing the web with Safari (or doing anything else in any other application - except most games) and you want iTunes to skip to the next track; conventonally you would either have to right-click the iTunes dock menu and choose "Next Track," or, click the iTunes icon in the dock to open the iTunes window, and then click next-track control.
If youre using iMote, however, you have two more options.
First, iMote gives you the option of adding a system .menu item to your menu bar. You can use the menu to perform an assortment of basic actions, setting the current tracks rating, change the current playist, and adjust the Shuffle and Repeat settin
The second option iMote gives you over just iTunes, and the option that is intended to be use most often, is its hot keys. For example: If you want to set the currently playing tracks rating to 4 stars, just hold the "Apple" + "Option" modifier keys, and tap the "4" number key.
This is an extremely quick and easy way to interact with iTunes - you dont even need to touch the mouse. You can also set custom hot keys using iMotes Preferences window.
iMote also includes a floating, transparent window called the "Floater" that displays information about the track iTunes is currently playing. It displays the name of the track, the album, artist, the tracks rating, and its album artwork if it has any.
iMote is built to use absolutely as little memory and CPU time as possible, and has just the right assortment of options.

System requirements:
-

Enhancements
- Full Mac OS 10.5 Leopard compatibility.
- Updated menu layout.
- Ability to show and hide iTunes with a hot key or the menu.
- Optimizations in iTunes interaction, floater updating and menu updating.
- Fixed a bug displaying modifier key symbols on Intel Macs.
- Fixed a bug causing iMote to sometimes re-open iTunes after it had been quit.
- Many other changes and improvements.

A Roguelike designed for the Gameboy Advance and Nintendo DS more>> A Roguelike designed for the Gameboy Advance and Nintendo DS

To understand POWDER, you should first understand roguelikes. "Roguelike" is a term applied to a wide variety of games which share a common inspiration from the game Rogue.
A non-exhaustive list of such games would be: ADOM, Nethack, Crawl, Diablo (I & II), Moria, and Angband. Apologies to the many excellent roguelikes not listed.
What characterizes these games? The exact specifications are a matter of debate but these are a few of them:
- Tactical play. The unit of action is based on the individual adventurer. The game is not twitch oriented (like Quake, rewarding reflexes & well trained actions) nor is it strategy oriented (like Civilizations or Warcraft, requiring working on the large picture)
- Based in Hack and Slash. A roguelike isnt primarily about plot development or telling a story. It is about killing things and acquiring treasure.
- Random games. A roguelike is a dungeon crawler where no two games are the same. The maps are different, the items are different, there are no guaranteed win paths.
- Permadeath. You die, that is it. No restoring a savegame. Good roguelikes delete your save game after loading them. This is compensated by the replayability of the game.
- Complex interactions of properties. While the commands for a roguelike are simple, the potential interactions are pretty complicated. My favourite example is equipping a silver ring as a weapon in order to damage a creature vulnerable to silver, but not ones other weapons. [Editor: This matches the Hack branch of the roguelike tree, not the Angband branch]
- Steam rolling monsters. If a critter is in your way, and weak, you shouldnt even notice it is there.
For more information about roguelikes there is the Rogue Basin, a Wiki documenting this genre, and the Temple of the Roguelike, a newsite tracking developments in the field.
Having defined Roguelike, POWDER is easy to describe: A Roguelike designed for the Gameboy Advance and Nintendo DS.
How to Win
Descend into the depths of the dungeon until you reach the foul daemon known as "He who the author cannot spell consistently", or, Baezlbub. When you have slain Baezlbub in heroic combat, or, if Baezlbub dies in any way, retrieve his black heart and bring it to the surface world.
You may then go the nearest newsgroup such as rec.games.roguelike.misc, and post YAAP (Yet Another Ascension Post).

Enhancements
- Two new exciting changes in this release. First we have a new spell: Animate Forest, for those who were wondering what the point of the Grow Forest spell was. Second we have the run mode which lets you auto-follow corridors, hopefully cutting your keystrokes substantially.
- Daemon now has the a in the summon daemon spell description. (FEG)
- If a daemon decides not to be summoned, an a is put in the daemons name.
- PSP character dumps should now say PSP Version rather than Linux version. (Dave Hong)
- If you were in the habit of quitting without saving, the random number seed would keep being the same between games, resulting in very similar games. For those keeping track, yes, this was caused by my naive attempts to make things *more* random. (Erik Spigel)
- If you manually climb a ladder while autoprompt is enabled you no longer are immediately prompted to climb back up the ladder when you get to the other side.
- New Run command, r for SDL users, which will cause you to run in that direction until something interesting happens. You will turn corners if there is only one way to do so. You can interrupt by hitting a key / pressing a button, useful if you find yourself running a closed loop. As the name implies, this is not meant to be some super safe way to explore the map. (PBP)
- Vi keys now support the Ctrl modifier to turn them into safe walk (David Damerell, Cuboidz)
- New spell: Animate Forest (Adam Boyd)
- When level teleporting via Wishing, do not start on same square as a monster.
- Diminishing returns on piety gains when gods already like you.
- List of items in character dump should now match order of list in inventory. (Meddyan, Cuboidz)
- Soul Suck spell no longer grants caster spells or skills that are present only due to items such as staves. (Eilu)
- Creatures that die underground should no longer have their corpse and items float to the surface. (Meddyan)
- Properly assign guilt to party responsibly for filling holes with boulders. (Meddyan)
- Properly credit kills for creatures that die from suffocation from a boulder you place. (Meddyan)
- The support programs now include cstring.h so should compile with the latest gcc. (Joe B)
- Fixed the #define guard in stdafx.h (Malte Helmert)

Apple Inkwell 1.1.1

Apple Inkwell 1.1.1

Apple Inkwell is a utility to identify your handwriting. more>>

Apple Inkwell 1.1.1 is a utility to identify your handwriting. You just write on a graphics tablet, and Jaguar turns it into typed text at the cursor in any application. Inkwell just works with all your existing applications. No upgrades, no application changes are necessary.

Inkwell lets you write wherever you want to on the screen, and the recognized text just flows to the current insertion point, as if you?d typed it on a keyboard. So when you?re working with a graphics tablet, there?s no need to put down the pen and return to the keyboard just to enter a title, caption or filename. You can also write command-key shortcuts with the pen ? it's easy to open and close windows, and otherwise control your applications, without lifting your pen from the tablet.

Built on Apple's Recognition Engine Inkwell's handwriting recognition is the best in the industry. Beyond just words and numbers, you can also use Inkwell to write commands. Inkwell provides a set of easy to learn and remember gestures that are convenient for carrying out common functions, such as cut, copy, paste and select-all, with a single stroke of the pen.

While in handwriting mode, you can still drag windows and use scrollbars and other controls immediately. The pen knows to behave like a mouse instantly in these special places. For other places, you can just press and hold the pen still briefly to use it like a mouse, anywhere.

You use Ink on a floating window to automatically insert text at the cursor. This window can mimic standard modifier keys, so you can write command-key shortcuts, bring up contextual menus, and so on, without having to return to the keyboard. You can shrink the window to a single button, which saves screen real estate while letting you toggle the pen between the pure mousing behavior used for drawing and painting and its handwriting behavior.

Conversely, you can expand the floating window to InkPad, a handy utility application. The InkPad app offers additional features for writing and editing, such as alternate word lists and targeted gestures. InkPad also lets you draw quick sketches and paste them in most other applications. So you can draw a quick map to the party, or communicate that new design you?ve got in mind, and send it out with your email, effortlessly.

Preferences allow you to add uncommon words to your own personal word list, for maximum recognition accuracy. And if your writing style is a little bit different?maybe you write your words closer together or letters farther apart than the average?you can fine-tune the recognition to suit your style.

Classic Window Management 1.1

Classic Window Management 1.1

Classic Window Management is released with an aim to lend you the option to have your OS X windows grouped (or layered) together by application, the way windows were in Mac OS 9. more>>

Classic Window Management 1.1 is released with an aim to lend you the option to have your OS X windows grouped (or layered) together by application, the way windows were in Mac OS 9. So if you click on one window to bring it to the front, all of that app's other windows come forward with it. This is especially useful with the Finder - a simple click on the Desktop will bring all open Finder windows to the front (standard behavior in OS 9, but absent in OS X; CWM fixes that!)

CWM lets you pick which type of window layering you prefer to be the default (Classic Style or standard OS X Style), and allows you to configure a modifier key to override it when you want to. For example, if Classic Style layering is enabled, you can still bring just a single window from an application to the front by using the modifier. You get the best of both worlds!

CWM is implemented as a module for Unsanity's Application Enhancer (APE). As such, detailed control over which applications are affected by CWM is available through the APE Manager preference pane. Application Enhancer *must* be installed and active for CWM to function.

Requirements:

  • Mac OS X 10.2 or higher Application Enhancer

Metadata Hootenanny 1.2

Metadata Hootenanny 1.2

Metadata Hootenanny is a viewer/editor for metadata in QT movies more>>
Metadata Hootenanny is a view/editor for all the spiffy metadata you can put into Quicktime movies. You know how you can view, edit and sort by your mp3s ID3 metadata in iTunes? Well, the same metadata system exists for all your quicktime movies, too, but until now the only way to access it was through the horrid interface of Quicktime Pro Player (You can see certain metadata items in QTs Info window, and add them in the Movie Properties window under Annotaions).
Metadata Hootenanny allows you to access this information more easily. You can make a list of all the videos in your collection with a certain director or writer. You can search your videos for a certain performer, or a keyword in the description. Of course, you have to add all this information to your movies yourself...which is a breeze with Metadata Hootenanny.
Main features:
- tab forward in the list during playback, opt-tab backwards.
- F enters full screen mode, any other non-modifier key exits (by default).
- import chapters from a text file in the format of quicktime (text descriptors ignored of course), or blockbuster/B&N (one chapter per line, text followed by mm:ss in square brackets [ ] ). You can also choose mov or ogm files to read chapters from them. If no chapters are found in the chosen mov file, the end points of the audio tracks are used for chapter times (useful if youve been syncing audio in QT Mutator after removing commercials).
- option-arrow (the QT combo for jumping to the next selection in/out point) has been commandeered to jump to the next chapter point.
- command up/down arrow in the main table text fields to switch between lowercase, capitalized and all-caps.
- Drag & Drop: other movies into the "tracks" view, image files into the sprite editor, image files into the "cover image" view (localized by current movie language).
Enhancements:
- Dropping image on multiple selected movies adds it to all. Fixed a bug that sometimes displayed movies at 0x0 after movie properties were changed.
