This Automator action creates a clean zip format archive (.zip) thats ready to share with others. Macintosh resource forks and desktop files will be ignored so they dont get in the way on other operating systems.
If youre uploading the file online, use the action "Make Names Web-Friendly" afterward to ensure the archive has a web-friendly file name. Works great as a Finder plugin, so you can access it with a single click!
Create Clean Archive is a small Automator action that will be of much use to you.

Useful if you have made a CD and you would like a printed record of whats actually on it.
Launch iTunes and have a look in your Scripts menu. Create Tracklist should be there.
Now select a playlist or CD in iTunes and choose Create Tracklist from the Scripts menu.
Create Tracklist will present you with a few options for you to select from. Create Tracklist will then go on to generate your listing, which as a default is saved to Macintosh HD > Users > Shared.
Of course, Create Tracklist can only work with whats there already. Make sure that the correct information about your tracks is available in iTunes before you start.

The Unarchiver 2.0.1 is known as a convenient and effective compression tool. The Unarchiver is a much more capable replacement for "BOMArchiveHelper.app", the built-in archive unpacker program in Mac OS X. The Unarchiver is designed to handle many more formats than BOMArchiveHelper, and to better fit in with the design of the Finder.
It can also handle filenames in foreign character sets, created with non-English versions of other operating systems. Personally find it useful for opening Japanese archives, but it should handle many other languages just as well.
It is very simple to use and install - simply copy it into your Applications folder or whereever you prefer, and then set archive filetypes to open using it. This can either be done the usual way, or by double-clicking the icon to show The Unarchiver's preferences.
Supported file formats include Zip, Tar-GZip, Tar-BZip2, RAR, 7-zip, LhA, StuffIt and many other more and less obscure formats. The goal is to make The Unarchiver able to extract anything you give it. The Unarchiver uses the libxad unarchiving library to support many older, obscure formats.
If you have a compressed file that The Unarchiver does not open, please post a bug on the bug tracker, and include the file in question, and I will look into whether it is possible to add support for it!
Major Features:
- Supports more formats than I can remember. Zip, Tar, Gzip, Bzip2, 7-Zip, Rar, LhA, StuffIt, several old Amiga file and disk archives, CAB, LZX, stuff I don't even know what it is.
- Copies the Finder file-copying/moving/deleting interface for its interface.
- Uses the character set autodetection code from Mozilla to auto-detect the encoding of the filenames in the archives.
- Supports split archives for certain formats, like RAR.
- Built around libxad. This is an old Amiga library for handling unpacking of archives. It supports a whole lot of formats, and added a couple more, and bugfixed old code. Also wrote a higher-level Objective-C wrapper around it, which might be useful for other projects too (including Xee).
- Should now handle concaternated bzip2 files.
- Fixes to the Japanese translation.
- Fixes to the LZMA parser.
