Free copy move software for mac

Copy to Smile is an Entourage AppleScript which copies the selection to the Smile script editor and compiles as a script.

All you have to do is selecte the dsired text and run the script.

As a longtime Windows user, I have become quite accustomed to having the "Copy To" and "Move To" items right at my fingertips in the Windows Explorer toolbar. So when I bought my first PowerBook several months ago I was at a loss, because not only did these items not exist in the Finder, there was really no easy way to move files at all!

So in my frustration I created this simple Applescript droplet that works just like the "Copy To" item from Windows Explorer. Drag and drop files on this applications icon in the Finder to copy those files to another folder on your computer. Brilliant!

CopyURL copies the URL of the frontmost browser window onto the clipboard. This archive contains separate scripts for Netscape and Internet Explorer.

Completly freeware.

The script works equally well in OS X or OS 9 and earlier.

Copy folder tree is an AppleScript that duplicates a folder structure from a selected node into another selected folder.
It will optionally copy or move files of certain types that it finds in the process.

I wrote this for a specifc purpose*, but hopefully the ideas can be used to suit similar needs. I was helped along by scripts posted here by Dan Decker and Robert Metzker, so I thought Id share the results.

*My particular need was to duplicate the folder structure of my iTunes Music Library into a spot where it would get backed up, but not copy the music files themselves. What I wanted to back up were the image files I had found/created, and in the process remove them from the library, since they didnt seem to "belong" there.

Copy File Twice is a Finder droplet to copy a chosen file or folder to other folders by simply dropping the file/folder on the script.

All you need to do is double-click the droplet to set the location of two folders you want to copy files to.
Then just drag files or folders onto the droplet to copy items to the selected folder(s).

Carbon Copy Cloner is a backup/cloning utility for Mac OS X.
Carbon Copy Cloner is considered the most cost-effective, easy-to-use backup solution available for Mac OS X.
Supported configurations:
- Local (i.e., not over a network connection), HFS+ formatted partition or hard drive.
- Mounted disk image. Cloning to a disk image will (obviously), not yield a bootable volume unless you use CCC to restore the image to a physical partition or disk.
- Firewire disks including iPods
- CCC will not backup directly to CDs or DVD-R discs, though you can backup to an appropriately sized disk image, then burn the image to disc with Toast or Disk Copy.
- Any machine that supports Mac OS X (officially).

Requirements:
MacOS 9.0 or later.
