“Pdftotext” is a shell program for converting PDF (Portable Document Format / Adobe Acrobat) documents into plain text. It is Open Source Software written by Glyph & Cog, LLC; this implies I only compiled it and built this installer package, but Im not the author of this software.

This installer will install nothing but a “pdftotext” binary and its manpage, compiled from the unmodified sources. Originally, “pdftotext” is part of the “Xpdf” software, which is a viewer for PDF documents. As I only needed the converter and not the viewer itself, this package does not contain anything except “pdftotext”. (Besides the fact that a full “Xpdf” installation requires the X window system.)

iPod Contents to iTunes Playlist adds the iPods contents to the "Library" (instead of as a seperate source) which allows users to do things like burn CDs from the iPod, create playlists with tracks from both the iPod and iTunes etc. This download contains a version for OS 9 and a version for OS X.

The AppleScript Timing Package by Ed Stockly is a proposed method for comparing the speed of alternative AppleScript algorithms. An interesting tool for intermediate or advanced AppleScript users. This script package requires the OSAX "Jons Commands".

The Contact Sheet II command in Adobe Photoshop 7 can automatically create and place a series of thumbnail previews on a page, and the Picture Package command can place multiple copies of a source image on a page.

Adobe Contact Sheet & Picture Package X is an update for Photoshop utilities.

Both commands rely on a plug-in called ContactSheetII. The version of the plug-in that shipped with Photoshop 7.0 contains a flaw that can cause Photoshop 7 to stop responding if either command is used with a layout directory that contains certain non-image files. This updated plug-in corrects the problem.

Code 128 EAN/UCC
To create a Code 128 EAN/UCC simply select the code from the list in either the "Single Barcode" or the "Batch Conversion" Pane. The code generator will create all necessary conversion characters to create the smallest possible outline. Use the "~" to encode non-printable characters, e.g. to encode a TAB, enter "~009".
Note: Code 128 and its variations (EAN/UCC/GS1 - they all mean the same) is ALWAYS used with a checksum. If the generated code does not scan, make sure that you checked the "Checksum" box.
Code 39 Extended
Code 39 Extended will be generated automatically after selecting Code 39 if the generator finds a cahacter that can only be used in Code 39 Extended, e.g. asmall caps. Use the "~" to encode non-printable characters, e.g. to encode a TAB, enter "~009".
Note: Make sure your barcode scanner will actually scan Code 39 Extended. This is not a given!
Enhancements:
- Support for Code 128 EAN/UCC and Code 39 Extended.
Version restrictions:
- The trial version of the software will place the word EVAL near the barcode. Nevertheless the code will scan just fine.
