Here is a little AppleScript application I threw together for compressing your movies into codecs suitable for VJ applications. Its a batch compression utility for those who dont have cleaner or Squeeze, heck you dont need QuickTime Pro. It lets you choose from 20 different compression settings that you might find usefull then saves them to a folder of your choosing. Presets for SheerVideo [ http://www.bitjazz.com ] will only work if you have installed the codec.

This is an AppleScript, so you are all welcome to edit and improve it. You can also make your own preset files and add them to the script and post them to this thread. In the future I will make it into an AppleScript Studio application with a completely Aqua interface with drag and drop.

Compression scripts for Big Cat is a pair of AppleScripts, when activated via contextual menu, will create a separate compressed archive for each selected file.

Choose Compress-StuffIt to create .sit files and Compress-ZIP to create .zip files.

MNG Component is a suite of QuickTime components (image compressor/decompressor, graphics importer, movie importer, and movie exporter) for making the MNG format accessible through QuickTime.
MNG files are not particularly widespread, so the main goal is not to support MNG files per se. Rather the intention is to use MNG as a superior compression algorithm for sequences of computer-generated images such as screen captures.
MNG allows for much greater compression than the Animation and Graphics codecs which have been standard parts of QuickTime for the past decade.
