A useful place to use this program is in an cloud environment where you have transient server instances starting and stopping based on workload.
At TuneCore we do a lot of media transcoding in the Amazon EC2 cloud and we need to keep track of our virtual instances. We created the TunecoreAnnouncer to help us with that.
