IconGrabber is a tool to extract icons from documents & applications in the form of tiff files.
It was developed as a developer tool to get at the generic OSX icons to modify for my own apps, but itll get the icon as displayed in Finder for anything (except folders.)
Enhancements:
- added Get Info version for English users.
- added ability to get icons by name, using AppKits +[NSImage imageNamed:] method.
- added ability to get icons by MIME type or pathname extension, using Icon Services GetIconRefFromTypeInfo. automatically disabled on OS X < 10.3.
- fixed memory leak of IconRefs in 1.0.
- separated IconRef->NSImage code from the get-by-type-and-creator code (since the get-by-MIME-type and get-by-extension methods use it too).
- separated Size field into Width and Height fields. it is now possible to scale the icon so that it is not square.
- fixed bug wherein the steppers ignored the value in their respective fields, so that if you changed the value in the field, then operated the stepper, the stepper would go to the next or previous step from the old size value.
- the IconGrabber window is now centered on startup, and remembers its position and size for future startups.
- added tool-tips.

MacBrownian Cocoa 1.5 is a tool endowed with extraordinary powers of helping you understand one of the most widely used "noise" models--Brownian motion. Brownian motion is used to model anything from the movement of amoebas to stock market prices.

Brownian motion is perhaps described as follows: stand at a point and flip a coin. If you get heads, then walk one foot left. If you get tails, then walk one foot to the right. Wait one second and repeat. This is called a random walk.

Now imagine that, instead of the above, you waited a half second and walked only a half foot in either direction. You are getting closer to Brownian motion. Now cut the time to a quarter second, and walk only a quarter foot. And so forth. Each time you cut the time and distance, you get something that looks more like Brownian motion.

Instead of wearing out your feet, try this program instead. It also simulates reflected Brownian motion (imagine bouncing off a wall--ouch!) and 2D Brownian motion (to model those amoebas).

Helix Server 6.1.4 is created to be a versatile utility which provides Clients around the world simultaneous access to a Helix RADE collection (relational database).
