Close and Delete is a small AppleScript for BBEdit which closes the frontmost document and moves it to the trash without a warning.

BBEdit has a great feature called Close & Delete, which is available when you hold down Shift and view the File menu. In BBEdit 7.0 and later, the utility of this time-saving feature is greatly diminished because BBEdit asks if you’re sure that you want to delete the file.

This script restores the old behavior of the command. If you delete the file by accident, you can always recover it from the trash can.

Fast Delete 1.0 is created as an AppleScript with the ability to automatically move a file to the trash and delete it. Apply Fast Delete to a function key, and choose your trash! It's much quicker than selecting what you want to delete, then typing command-delete, waiting for it to move to the trash, and then typing command-shift-delete. It's so lengthy compared to the automation that Fast Delete gives you.

Force Delete is a small utility to rest in your dock or toolbar that will delete the currently selected file no matter what, if you have administrator privileges. It is also a great addition to FruitMenus contextualmenus.
Beacause you obviously cant just lanch it, please read the readme for instructions, precautions, and known issues with this program.
Force Delete a single file or folder: Select a file or folder on your computer and click the icon in your dock or Finder toolbar. A dialog should pop up asking you if youre sure you want to delete the file or folder and giving you the Unix path. Read this message and make sure that it is the file or folder you wish to delete, especially in the column view where file/folder selections are sketchy. If you decide to go through with it a dialog will pop up asking you to enter you administrator password. Type it in and press OK. The file/folder will be deleted. It may take the Finder a moment to realize that it is gone but you didnt receive an error, it is.

As powerful as Microsoft Entourage is, you would think that something as simple as the Delete Key would be a no-brainer. Think again!

For this, the developers have decided that just hitting Delete is far too obvious. If you want to get rid of a task, for example, you have to first select the task and hit Cmd-Delete. This brings up a Warning Dialog, which then lectures you on all the dangers of ‘deleting’!

Needles to say that this was an educational project for me. While trying to create something like Visor for iTerm about a year ago I needed to figure out how to make a fading window without delving into Quarz Graphics too deeply.

Delete Thread is an AppleScript for Microsoft Entourage 2001 that deletes all messages in the thread of the currently selected message.
This function is now natively possible in Entourage (it wasnt in OE5), but Ive left this script up here for others to learn from.

GrandPerspective 1.1.0 is specifically designed for Mac OS X to graphically show the disk usage within a file system. It can help you to manage your disk, as you can easily spot which files and folders take up the most space.
