With Mac OS X it is now possible to make filenames with up to 256 characters. The classic Mac OS can not display more than 31 characters.

If you now make filenames with over 31 characters, the will be displayed under classic OS like "this_filename_is_to_lo#5A0B9.jpg".

Classic31 counts the characters of filenames, alerts more than 31 characters, tells you how many characters you have to delete and lets you direct editing over dialogwindow.
