Quite Universal Circuit Simulator 0.0.15

Quite Universal Circuit Simulator 0.0.15

A nice circuit simulator. more>> A nice circuit simulator.

Qucs (Quite Universal Circuit Simulator) is an integrated circuit simulator which means you are able to setup a circuit with a graphical user interface (GUI) and simulate the large-signal, small-signal and noise behaviour of the circuit.
After that simulation has finished you can view the simulation results on a presentation page or window.
Qucs is a circuit simulator with graphical user interface (GUI). The GUI is based on Qt by Trolltech. The software aims to support all kinds of circuit simulation types, e.g. DC, AC, S-parameter, Harmonic Balance analysis, noise analysis, etc.
Qucsator, the simulation backend, is a command line circuit simulator. It takes a network list in a certain format as input and outputs a Qucs dataset. It has been programmed for usage in the Qucs project but may also be used by other applications.
Qucs is currently developed under the GNU/Linux OS using the standard autotools with no special effort to support other operating systems.Qucs can also be successfully compiled and run on Mac OS X, Solaris, NetBSD, FreeBSD, Windows and Cygwin.

Enhancements
- The new release comes with new translations into Arabic and Czech, model libraries for PMOSFETs, NMOSFETs, regulators, varistors and ideal components, and many new primitive components such as EPFL-EKV NMOS/PMOS V2.6, rectangular waveguide, HICUM L0 v1.2, HICUM L2 v3.23, photodiode, digital buffer, microstrip radial stub, phototransistor, RLCG transmission line and numerous new digital primitives.
- Passing parameters to Verilog-HDL and VHDL subcircuits and typed generic parameters of VHDL files are now supported as well as arbitrary in/out signals.
- Simulation time for digital files (Verilog and VHDL) are now stored in an additional configuration file and the import dialog has been replaced by a complete import/export frontend for the Qucs-Converter command line tool. US letter formats for schematic frame have been added. The build system now implements an additional install step for MacOSX and the appropriate icons.
- In the analogue simulation core global nodes (e.g. subst!) have been introduced, property references inside the same instance of a component and variables in constant parameter simulation boxes are allowed.
- A noise figure property has been added to the amplifier model and the matrix power operation is available in the equation solver.
- The Qucs-Converter command line tool allows now to translate existing HICUM models into library elements as well as the translation of polynomial Cs and Ls and F, H, E and G polynomial SPICE sources.

Service Monitor 1.0b1

Service Monitor 1.0b1

Service Monitor ensures that internet services running on a computer keep working more>>
Service Monitor works with our PowerKey and Kick-off! products to ensure that internet services running on a computer keep working.

Service Monitor works by periodically querying the chosen services running on this computer, and verifying that they respond as desired. As long as they do, Service Monitor updates a "Rebound! Timer" in the PowerKey/Kick-off! software. If the service fails for any reason, Service Monitor stops updating the corresponding timer, and PowerKey/Kick-off! can take appropriate action to restart the computer.

MacFDTD 0.8

MacFDTD 0.8

MacFDTD is a silicon optics layout & simulation program more>>
Macintosh silicon layout and simulation software. Create semiconductor and optical circuit designs, and test them out before fabrication.
Main features:
- Basic layout abilites, 5-function variable equation support, and basic GDSII format exporting.
- Full support for saving and loading files associated with the .fdtd extension. This is an format Ive introduced just for this program.
- Multiple documents are working, so there can be multiple schematics being worked on at the same time.
- The best thing about the 2nd release is that both Layout Index profiles and Layout Permeability profiles are now working.
- Preliminary simulation engine, and an updated animation window.
- The simulation engine cannot yet properly support some materials and sources, and sensors are not yet implemented, so results are purely qualitative
- A new format for saving & loading simulations, note that its incompatible with the previous saved simulations.
- There is now slight support for extending simulations, so a simulation can be loaded, then pick up where you left off. This is still incomplete.
- internal changes for code maintenance and performance.
- Better support for indexes, permeabilities, conductivities, with profiles
- Snap-to-grid, and revert to selection cursor options
- Simulations can be cancelled while running
- Clipboard functionality, shape rotations, tooltips, and the duplicate & delete tools
- Full layout scripter, with no arcane typing, just an easy-to-use clickable interface
- There is a demo script hosted on the dev page
- A plugin system has been added for analyzing results, and included is a basic E-field plotter. Rest assured, I will have better plugins coming along.
Enhancements:
- Full GDSII importing support: paths!
- Exponential, not linear zooming
- Auto-fit to layout button
- Far better plugin support.

Exibia 1.4.1

Exibia 1.4.1

Exibia is a popular utility which permits clients in a multi-user, multi-platform environment to upload and schedule QuickTime-compatible videos to a centrally-located server. more>>

Exibia 1.4.1 is a popular utility which permits clients in a multi-user, multi-platform environment to upload and schedule QuickTime-compatible videos to a centrally-located server. The Exibia Server, connected to a CATV television system for broadcast, handles the scheduling and playback of the video content. Users of any platform can easily upload and schedule videos for playback using their web browser.

In English: Anyone with a Mac or a PC can use Exibia to schedule multimedia content to play on a school's CATV television system. Since Exibia handles the scheduling, there is no guesswork involved. No need to hook up an LCD projector or television directly to the computer, Exibia lets you effortlessly use the television equipment already in place in many schools.

Major Features:

  1. iCal and Web Integration.: Exibia server provides users with RSS feeds, iCal Calendar subscriptions (using industry-standard .ics calendar files) and a web interface to view and schedule content to be broadcast. Exibia can also allow users to preview the content of scheduled videos before they are broadcast.
  2. Easy LDAP Integration: In some environments it may be necessary to restrict the use of Exibia to certain groups of users. For example, in a school environment, administrators may want to allow only teachers and administrators to schedule video. Exibia provides easy integration with existing LDAP infrastructure, providing security for users and administrators.
  3. Maximize resources, minimize costs: Keeping up with the latest technology can be expensive. Purchasing LCD projectors and speaker systems for each classroom can prove to be financially impossible for many schools. Exibia helps solve this problem by utilizing the existing closed-circuit television systems found in many schools and public buildings and allows users to broadcast the content they want when they want it.

Requirements:

  • Exibia Server: Any Macintosh capable of running Mac OS X 10.4.2 Client or greater with an available video output. A G4, G5 or Intel processor recommended. A large hard drive is recommended for video storage. Most schools use Mac minis as their Exibia server.
  • Connection Cables: To connect the Exibia Server to your CCTV system you'll need a video out adapter and an audio cable.
  • Multimedia Content: Many school districts subscribe to Discovery Education's unitedstreaming, an online video repository and educational service. Exibia works great for user-created content as well. Exibia will work with any QuickTime-compatible media, including MP3s, podcasts and videocasts.

Spice 3f4v02b

Spice 3f4v02b

Spice - Electronic circuit simulation program more>>
We start off with a piece of software which is of interest to a tightly-focussed group of folk - a port of the Spice electronic circuit simulation program to the Macintosh (MacOS Classic and MacOS X Public Beta - the port is carbonised).
The port is very straightforward - the source was downloaded from Berkeley and minimal changes made to allow it to be compiled (with Metrowerks Code Warrior Pro 5) for any PowerPC Macintosh.
Kiva Design offers absolutely no support whatsoever for this software. However, if you do find errors, by all means fix em and report back - well post the corrections.
Enhancements:
- CW Pro 6.2 can now compile Spice3f4 with optimisations.
