Anyone who has worked in Quark for any time knows that creating bulleted lists and ordered lists can be tedious, partially because of the precise control over these elements that Quark gives you, unlike common word processors.

While these functions are commonplace in word processors and web editing programs, they have always been absent in QuarkXPress until now!

Kumoon is a hybrid of a third person shooter and a puzzle game. Player controls a chick that tries to knock down boxes in various rooms by shooting them with a revolver, shotgun or a bazooka.

Kumoon won the first prize in the GameDev compo at the Assembly05 party. Kumoon uses the MOPE physics engine I wrote in 2004.

The goal of the game is to complete all the rooms successfully. The only way you can complete a room is to have 0 or positive points when you have tilted over all the red/green boxes.

Normally you cannot complete a room just by shooting at the boxes directly. You will get too many penalty points for using too many bullets. Instead you need to use the score multiplier feature. This can be done by bouncing the bullet from the wall before hitting the red/green boxes. This way the points you get will be multiplied by 10 (or 20 or 30, depending on how many bounces the bullet makes before hitting the boxes).

Note that the first shot is always free, regardless of weapon. A good way is to use either the shotgun or the bazooka for the first shot, since they are much more powerful that the revolver. After the first bullet you probably want to use the revolver, because you get much less penalty points for using the revolver bullets.

The text from any FileMaker Pro database can be converted to HTML instantly.

THere is an option to have any underlined text treated as raw HTML--perfect for URLs!

Install HotService, a Cocoa input manager bundle, and all shortcuts of services are available right after launching Cocoa applications.

Currently (up to Mac OS X 10.3.9) you have to pull down the application menu at least once before its possible to use shortcuts of services.
In addition, HotService moves the services menu up to the main menu bar (behind the windows menu) to make it easier to reach the services.

spinvaders is a direct descendant of the old "Space Invaders" type of game. This first public test release, version 0.0.1, is fully playable and may even be fun!

The game levels get progressively more difficult as you go along, with the aliens increasing in numbers and speed, and acquiring better, faster bullets.
Spinvaders features a point multiplier mechanism based on your shot accuracy. Each hit will increase the point multiplier (to a maximum of ten), and each bullet that goes off into space will decrease the multiplier.

When the multiplier reaches ten, you acquire the "super-gun", which fires more quickly, is slightly larger, and is more devastating when it hits; The alien which is hit throws off a couple bits of shrapnel which are deadly to other aliens, and then it falls burning to the bottom of the screen, where it is deadly to you.

The controls for the game are described at the startup screen, everything should be pretty obvious. One undocumented feature of this test version is that pressing "J" will let you jump to any level.

WakieWakie is a faceless background application that opens/launches the contents of a folder when your Mac is woken up.

Think of it as a parallel to the Startup Items mechanism.
Now Location Manager aware !

Drop it into your Extensions folder. Create a folder named Wakeup Items inside your System folder. Put into that folder any aliases, documents, applications, scripts, whatever that you want to run/open when your machine wakes up. The only restriction is that folders with a bullet (Option-8) as the first character of their name wont be opened. If you dont like INITs, dont worry; its a daemon. Change the creator to APPL with your favorite resource editor and you can launch it at will instead of having it load at startup. If you have Apples Location Manager installed on your system, things change slightly. If you have a location selected (not "None (Off)") and the Wakeup Items folder contains a subfolder whose name is the same as the current location with a bullet (Option-8) on the front, WakieWakie will open the items in that subfolder rather than the Wakeup Items folder proper. To illustrate, consider this arrangement:

Blixx is a fun and surprisingly challenging game. Bust the blue bubbles with the ball and paddle, or shoot them with a bullet. Just dont let them touch the paddle.

Launcher is a Cocoa adaptation of the MacOS 7/8.x Launcher control panel. Applications, files, and directories may be dragged onto one of the launcher panels, or aliases may be placed in the (Home)/Library/LauncherItems folder/subfolders.

There is now a New Panel menu item to facilitate creation of new panels. New panels can also be created in a manner similar to the MacOS 8.x Launcher by creating subfolders with a prefix of _ or on their name.

Available for both Mac OS X Server 1.x and Mac OS X 10.x (including 10.2.x).
