The Basic Local Alignment Search Tool (BLAST) finds regions of local similarity between sequences. The program compares nucleotide or protein sequences to sequence databases and calculates the statistical significance of matches. BLAST can be used to infer functional and evolutionary relationships between sequences as well as help identify members of gene families.

blast is a command to send a mass plain-text e-mail to all the addresses in standard input. It can also send attachments. Sendmail must already be configured on the computer for blast to work. A HTML version is being developed.

Icbiass is a 2D space shooter game. In fact, you might say "I Cant Believe Its Another Space Shooter", if you get my meaning. :-)
It is a two player only game, playable by any two machines with IP address, and features pixel level sprite collisions for more realistic battles, and is multi-threaded. Basically you fly your ship, one of ten you can choose from, and try to blast the other player. Each ship has a different weapon, and a special ability like cloaking or point defenses.

BZFlag is a fast-paced multiplayer network game in which you drive a tank around a 3D landscape, trying to blow up your opponents.
Meanwhile, you capture flags that give you special powers (including: invisibility, super-powerful lasers, and the ability to drive through walls).
Players drive around an arena and blast other enemy tanks. The 3D is much enhanced from BattleZone in terms of looks and gamplay (features a multi-tiered battle arena).
Here the tanks can jump. Tanks can enhance armaments or gain new fighting abilities by capturing power-up flags littered around the playing field. Simple premise that rapidly becomes addicitive. Good fun.
