GenChemLab is an OpenGL-based application intended to simulate several common general chemistry exercises.
It is meant to be used to help students prepare for actual lab experience. It could also be used in cases where laboratory facilites are not accessible, for instance in K-12 schools or home schooling.
At present, supported experiments include titration, calorimetry, freezing point depression, vapor pressure, spectrophotometry and extraction.

Ever needed a set of random numbers that are unique (no repeats)?
If you did and consulted the Table of Random Numbers in statistic books, you would have been disappointed because TRN carries a good number of repeats.
UniQRNGenerator, as its name implies, is a script that generates unique random numbers. The output is saved under TextEdit for further editing and printing if necessary.
Who may benefit from this script? Science people, especially those who often conduct replicated field and laboratory experiments, should find this script quite useful.
Enhancements:
- Minor revision gets error traps and user-alerts!
- Shows dialog type status report when the process takes time
- Error and user-cancel traps now implemented
- Arbitrary numbers stuffed into the dummy list now changed to empty strings to avoid numeric overlap and subsequent run-time error
- Stack overflow (uncured bug) still occurs but it is now properly trapped and the resulting RN table is still valid and useful.

R for Mac OS X 2.9.1 is a product designed for statistical computing and graphics. It is a GNU project which is similar to the S language and environment which was developed at Bell Laboratories (formerly AT&T, now Lucent Technologies) by John Chambers and colleagues. R can be considered as a different implementation of S. There are some important differences, but much code written for S runs unaltered under R.

Requirements:
Mac OS X 10.3.1 or later, Java 3D and Java Advanced Imaging Update 1.0.

Major Features:

1. Graphical Sequence Editing: MacVector can read and write DNA and Protein sequences in most popular file formats. In addition to directly editing sequences and features/annotations, MacVector has an intuitive "Click Cloning" graphical interface that lets you easily replicate laboratory cloning experiments to create new molecules.

4. Primer Design: You can design primers for either PCR or Sequencing/Hybridization probes use in experiments.
5. DNA Analysis: MacVector provides a wide variety of using "Dot-Plot" analysis and scanned for Proteolytic cleavage sites and amino acid sequence motifs. A comprehensive Protein Analysis Toolbox provides a wide variety of algorithms for analyzing the composition of proteins and presenting the results in graphical and tabular formats.
6. Database Searching: MacVector has built-in Internet connectivity to the NCBI BLAST and Entrez databases. You can directly search Entrez for DNA or Protein sequences based on features, authors, keywords etc and directly download them into MacVector, complete with all features and annotations. The built-in BLAST interface lets you submit multiple BLAST jobs using a FastA algorithm, allowing for "local" database searches.
7. Multiple Sequence Alignment: You can align unlimited numbers of DNA or Protein sequences ustalW algorithm built in to MacVector. A full-featured editor lets you make manual adjusing a wide variety of cused for two different functions, Sequence Confirmation and cDNA Alignment. This is included with MacVector and allows you to import trace files or sequence files and assemble them against a template sequence. This is ideal for small scale sequencing projects, especially resequencing.
   

Postgredit 0.5.1 is created to be a useful application which enables you to easily view, edit, and sort postgreSQL databases just as you would do with a spreadsheet. It also comes with the ability to be used as a java applet to allow users to manipulate a database from a webpage.

Unified Parallel C (UPC) is an extension of the C programming language designed for high performance computing on large-scale parallel machines. The language provides a uniform programming model for both shared and distributed memory hardware.

The programmer is presented with a single shared, partitioned address space, where variables may be directly read and written by any processor, but each variable is physically associated with a single processor.

UPC uses a Single Program Multiple Data (SPMD) model of computation in which the amount of parallelism is fixed at program startup time, typically with a single thread of execution per processor.

In order to express parallelism, UPC extends ISO C 99 with the following constructs:
* An explicitly parallel execution model
* A shared address space
* Synchronization primitives and a memory consistency model
* Memory management primitives UPC combines the programmability advantages of the shared memory programming paradigm and the control over data layout and performance of the message passing programming paradigm.
