Free binhex 4.0 decoder software for mac

This is a simple AppleScript droplet which includes a binary of the TiVoDecode program. Just drag and drop your .tivo files on it and get an MPEG-2 video out. You can then use other tools to convert that MPEG-2 into something else.

Documentation is included. If you need help getting your .tivo files onto your Mac or converting MPEG-2 files into something more useful, try Google.

Problems with the decoding (such as missing audio and other weirdness) are best addressed on the tivodecode sourceforge page. I will not be supporting this program beyond the functionality of the basic AppleScript wrapper.

To get your TiVo files onto your Mac, you have two options: First, try Galleon, with or without the launcher bundle for OS X. Or, if you prefer, you can download straight from your browser by typing in your TiVo’s IP address prefixed by https:// (rather than http://). Your login is “tivo” and your password is your Media Access Key..

If you’re using Safari and have Bonjour bookmarks enabled, your TiVo should just publish itself to your bookmarks, so you can select that link (probably called something like “dvr-123.local.”) and then just add the https:// in front of it to get to the video listing.

These videos wont play terribly well in Quicktime. You’re better off using VLC or something else for video playback.

MacBinHex is a small scripting addition which enables you to automate the encoding (without RLE compression) and decoding of binhex (.hqx) files.

The application is completly freeware and the source code is included within the package.

SoundApp Drop Decoder 1.0 is a very flexible and effective script that uses SoundApp to decode (just about) any sound file to Aiff, suitable for burning on CD. Formerly posted as "Dan's Drop Decoder." This is useful, now that Mpecker is no longer freeware. Also, SoundApp will decode files that Mpecker cannot. Works simply as "Drag and Drop."

X Lossless Decoder 20090924 (XLD) is a comprehensive and easy-to-use tool for Mac OS X that is able to decode/convert/play various 'lossless' audio files. The supported audio files can be split into some tracks with cue sheet when decoding. It works on Mac OS X 10.3 and later.

   • XLD version 20080812 and later can be used as a CD ripper. You can convert each track in your audio CD into the desired format. Also XLD supports output a CD image with cue sheet (wav+cue, flac+cue, etc).
2. Plug-in oriented design: Frontend and backend of XLD are prefectry separated, so the frontend is able to access the various decoder with the same interface. If they provide plug-in interface in the future, you can easily develop the plug-in of the new format. If you are interested in this, please see XLDDecoder.h in the source files.
