The program is client-based and was designed for Macs that connect to a particular network volume usually when the user isn't present such as the login screen on Macintosh Manager though this isn't a requirement. Uses are copying files to and deleting files on workstations based on criteria such as modification date, number of files, and machine names. This software has been used and tested in a school district for a year. Nonetheless, take the same precautions you would with any software that involves deleting files.

KDE on Mac OS X has a long history, but is seeing new life in KDE4 and Qt4/Mac by bringing native KDE4 applications to the Mac OS X desktop.
KDE 4.x on Mac OS X is quickly reaching a stable stage, and currently could be considered a "technology preview". Official support for Mac OS X is targeted for KDE 4.1.0.
Mac OS X is already a "desktop environment" in the sense that it provides window management, application launching, etc. The goal of KDE on Mac OS X is to be able to provide the rich frameworks and applications that can be found in KDE to a wider audience.
