This small application makes it possible to generate a file which will display the numbers of week in iCal.
For that, you must: to choose the current date of the first week, the selected day must correspond with the day chosen below (Monday or Sunday), specify if the weeks begin one Monday or Sunday, to specify if the mark in iCal relates to all the week or only the first day of the week, to choose to simply generate the ics file on the desk or to generate the file and to launch the iCal application to integrate it in this one.

Cave Story, or Doukutsu Monogatari, is a Japanese freeware PC side-scrolling platformer game developed by StudioPixel. It has been translated into English by Aeon Genesis Translations and will have an official translation script published sometime in the near future.

Cave Story is really one of those games that can be considered a masterpiece of game design. There are so many wonderful and classic gaming elements, that I cannot even begin to describe just one quality well enough to say “It is for this one reason alone that Cave Story is a great game.” There is just so much effort, originality and ingenuity behind this game and it really shows more and more as you play through it.

The developer, Pixel spent five years making this game as fun and as great as it is by adding solid controls, smooth gameplay, a great cast of characters and dialogue, an interesting plot, good music and beautiful old-school 2-D artwork.

And on top of all this added multiple endings, several boss battles, tons of items to collect, all kinds of added secret bonuses and special challenges, various and considerably different methods of playing through the game depending on your actions, competition ranking features and an extremely high replay value. For a freeware game it is fairly lengthy too.

Cave Story is by far the best freeware game I have ever had the honor of playing through and certainly one of the best games I’ve played.

The gameplay plays like a combination of various NES/Famicom games. Some that come to mind are Metroid, Castlevania, Megaman, Blaster Master and Monster Mash. Pixel’s art style and character design and boss battles are very reminiscent of Treasure games, like Gunstar Heroes, which happens to be one of my personal favorite games of all time.

So if you are a fan of any of these titles, then you are in for a real treat. It was a wonderful and addicting experience playing through it and I hope anyone reading this who has not already played this game will give it a shot.
You surely won’t be disappointed. It reminded me of why I enjoy playing videogames.

Send to kGTD ADVANCED is a modest improvement to the Send to kGTD script that Ethan created. Not only does it work for launchers other than Quicksilver, It has a few other improvements over the included script:

1 The kGTD file is saved once the new task is added. Computers fail sometimes, and it would be a shame to have a lot of new tasks vanish in the midst of a weekly review. Especially given the new functionality in this release, this action is now my #1 way to add tasks. I’d hate to lose ‘em.
2 Closes kGTD file on completion if it was closed already. Keep the computer clean and memory available. If the kGTD file was open to begin with, it remains open.
3 LaunchBar support. This can be activated from LaunchBar. Simple enough. Still works with Quicksilver, too. (As the previous script I sent did.)
4 Run support. If the script is just plain “run,” it will prompt the user with a dialog to enter the new task string. This permits the script to be run from Apple’s script menu, Butler, DragThing, FastScripts, iKey, or darn near anything that can run scripts.
5 Correctly matches contexts. The version included in 0.83 will return the last match, not necessarily the best match. I submitted a bug report about this on the website. There might be a better way to handle this, but this seems quick and works well.
6 Rather than use the “new” flag when creating a context or project, this will actually create a new context or project if a match isn’t found. This might be better handled through an alert of some sort (e.g. “Are you sure you want to create context: New Context?”), but I prefer this behavior.

Metronome 1.8.1 has come as a handy and smart program for free which is compatible with Mac OS X.

SUSAN is played against the computer on a hexagonal board with 61 spaces, using two sets of playing stones. To begin the game, you decide who goes first. On each turn you can place a stone in any empty space, or slide a stone that you already have on the board. The object of the game is to surround any one of your opponent's stones.
