This application allows you to select any number of those feeds, downloads them, and presents their contents in an easy-to-read form.
Every 60 seconds, one of the categories you have selected for viewing is updated. The categories are updated in turn so if having frequent updates of one category is important to you, make sure almost all other categories are hidden.
The stories you see are the stories that appear on the BBCs own news website

iPlayer Grabber is a user-friendly yet efficient Mac application that will help you download BBC iPlayers programs more>> iPlayer Grabber 0.95.2 is a user-friendly yet efficient Mac application that will help you download BBC iPlayers programs. iPlayer Grabber is based on the excellent work of Paul Battley who produced the opensource iplayer-dl ruby script which forms the heart of iPlayer Grabber.
iPlayer Grabber does all the heavy lifting involved with actually downloading programs from the iPlayer site. What iPlayer Grabber gives you is a simple, native, Mac OS X interface to make using Pauls script much easier for non geeks and the lazy.
The main feature that iPlayer Grabber adds is its integrated iPlayer browser, use the app to browse around the iPlayer site, click a program you would like to save and you are prompted to download.
The programs will be saved as Quicktime .mov files (they are actually encoded using h.264, often referred to as MP4) and, thus, you can keep them for posterity and later watched on your Mac or video capable iPod (or a Windows or Linux PC for that matter).

Ceefax (phonetic for "See Facts") is the BBCs teletext information service. Teletext is an information retrieval service provided by television broadcast companies.
Teletext pages can be viewed on television sets with suitable decoders. They offer a range of text-based information, usually including national, international and sporting news, weather and TV schedules.
This widget will let you view Ceefax at any time using Dashboard. You do not need a TV but you will need Mac OS 10.4 or better and an internet connection. Limited, unsupported functionality under Mac OS 10.3.9 requires Amnesty Widget Browser.

- You can also use a proxy connection to download the files, although usage of this feature may not be in accordance with the BBC's Terms of Service
- It is down to you to ensure your compliance with them.
