BatteryStatsX is a program that will give you detailed information on your Macintosh PowerBook or iBook battery under Mac OS X. BatteryStatsX runs from 10.1 to 10.3.
BatteryStatsX features a main window that displays voltage, charge, amperage, current charge, charge capacity, battery time or charge time remaining, and if the computer is plugged in or not. The applications dock icon also displays a battery icon indicating charge and whether the computer is plugged in and charging.

MiniBatteryStatus widget monitors battery status and charge percentage. It displays colorful information to quickly notice your battery conditions.
The widget assumes different colors depending on the remaining charge of the battery.
It is also aware of battery charging and plugged status. User can choose if the widget should display percentage, capacity (current/maximum), remaining time, and cycle count or just the charge gauge.

Battery Drain is a free utility which allows users to charge or drain their batteries to a certain amount for long-term storage.

When storing lithium-ion batteries for an extended period of time, Apple recommends storing them with a 50% charge. Battery Drain allows you to set the charge amount and will automatically shut down the computer when the battery has reached the proper charge.

Battery Drain is very useful for administrators of large numbers of portable Macintosh computers, such as MacBooks and iBooks.

SlimBatteryMonitor is a replacement power gauge for Mac OS X that monitors both laptop batteries and many UPS batteries. Multiple-battery systems (e.g. older powerbooks) are supported as well. A graphical icon shows the power remaining, and can be accompanied by a text description (battery charge in percent, or time remaining). Colours can indicate whether the system is fully charged, charging or on battery.
SlimBatteryMonitor operates as a background application, so it wont use up a space in your dock.
Best of all, you can choose different display options for each battery state (fully charged, charging or on battery). You may wish to see the time remaining while on battery, for example, but show only the icon during charging, and hide SlimBatteryMonitor entirely when batteries are fully charged.
Agrees closely with Apples monitor, as both are producing a gauge from the same raw data. SlimBatteryMonitor is a better choice because it presents the same information in a much more space efficient manner, allowing you to fit other menu bar items on the screen as well.
SlimBatteryMonitor is compatible with Mac OS X 10.2 and up, and it is very easy to configure.

iChat Status keeps your iChat status to the name of the current application you are using.

Unlike other solutions, this is not a hack and all thats needed is this script and iChat AV.

Buddy Status is a simple Dashboard widget for Mac OS X v10.4 which will display the name of a buddy from your iChat buddy list in a color which indicates their current status. This gives you access to your buddys status with the press of a single key! You can have as many Buddy Status widgets on your Dashboard as you want, for as many different buddies as you want. Clicking on your buddys name opens an iChat IM window to them (if they are online). Hovering over the name displays the buddys status message as a tool tip.
