Battery Drain is a free utility which allows users to charge or drain their batteries to a certain amount for long-term storage.

When storing lithium-ion batteries for an extended period of time, Apple recommends storing them with a 50% charge. Battery Drain allows you to set the charge amount and will automatically shut down the computer when the battery has reached the proper charge.

Battery Drain is very useful for administrators of large numbers of portable Macintosh computers, such as MacBooks and iBooks.

BatteryAlarm warns when battery power is below a user-definable threshold (default = 5 minutes left).
BatteryAlarm is multiple-battery aware.

Place it anywhere and add to Login Items.

BatteryInfo is a Dashboard widget designed to be a better looking, dashboard based replacement for the menu bar battery monitor. Thanks go to Luis Moreno for the graphics and to Marc Wolfgram for helping implement dual battery support.
It has the ability to display the percentage charge remaining. It can also display the time remaining on current charge, although this feature is somewhat ugly and needs beautifying, so if anyone has any suggestions for making it look better, mail me! This widget is more accurate than other copies out there are it pulls its information from the same place as the Apple menubar item. It also looks nicer IMO ;)

BatteryViewer displays the level of your battery in different, fun and innovative ways. BatteryViewer doesnt take up any extra space on your screen, yet is able to provide you with an always present display.

BatteryViewer is a fun Preference Pane and background application pair which displays the level of your computers battery. Generally, it does this by displaying a bar graph (there are other ways that you will discover).

The size and location of the graph can be selected. The colour (and transparency) of both when the battery is empty and when it is full can be specified. Battery levels between empty and full will blend the two colours and their transparencies.

There is also an option for showing the percentage full as well as the time remaining (until empty or completed charging).

You are invited to experiment with the settings, playing with them until you find a setup that is useful to you!

Apple Battery Update 1.4 is a useful and popular utility to determine if your battery needs this update. Note: If the Pack Lot Code is 0003, the update is not necessary or has already been applied.
