iPhone Backup Decoder script will extract the iPhone files backed up by iTunes on your Mac so that you can view and edit them.
iPhone Backup Decoder does not currently support re-encoding, but it will be added soon.
Make a copy of your /Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/ and run the script against the *.mdbackup files. The script will create a MobileSyncExport folder which will contain the extracted files.

Camino Backup & Restore was originally made for those Camino users that want to stay on the bleeding edge of development and have to backup and restore there bookmarks, preferences and cookie preferences manually every time they download a nightly build. And I know it takes a lot of mouse clicks to do that. But of course anybody with the desire to backup can use it.
This little script automates the whole backup process for you. It will backup your files to a folder (whose name is the date on which the backup was done). And it will enable you to restore your files from this folder. How easy could it be?

Backup timer is an AppleScript that simpley backs up a folder daily.

This script is a timed applescript that stays open where it checks the time once an hour and when it corresponds to the hour designated in the script, executes a duplicate command where a folder of files to be backed up is copied to a folder named for that day.

The folder is backed up daily (from Monday to Friday). The script runs within a time range, gives a voice warning, mounts a volume, duplicates a specified folder to a folder that matches the day of the week with a timeout command, ejects the volume and quits.

The script should be saved as an application and should always be running.

backup 1.0 is a professional and complete package which provides unattended backups for MacOS. When used on MacOS 10.4 (Tiger), it will generate appropriately-sized, tar-format archives, including the resource forks, in dated, sequentially-numbered burn folders on the user's Desktop, ready to burn to DVDs or CDs. (With MacOS 10.2-3, the ready-to-burn archives will not include the resource fork, and will be in folders with the suffix .fpbf).

If you have enough disk space, you can back-up your entire system. You can optionally back-up only files newer than a specified date for incremental back-ups. If you are short of disk space, you can use the -m option to manually burn each volume.

The default paths to back-up are configured into the script, so usage for regular back-ups is simply backup in a terminal, or you can double-click backup in the Finder. Optionally, the paths to back-up and various options can be specified on the command line.

Since iTunes Library keeps crashing occasionally I was searching for a way to preserve all metadata. The tags are safely stored inside the files. Only the rating is not.

Thats what iTunes Backup and Restore Rating Scripts does - it backups the rating into the (at least for me) useless BPM-Tag. Its also an script for restoring into rating included.

The Backup to floppy script was designed for creating daily backups of specified files to a rotating set of floppies (labeled by day of week). You can customize the script by changing file, folder, and drive names.
