Major Features:

1. File System Monitoring
   
   • In addition to the traditional 'Before & After' snapshot method of creating packages, Composer 7 has the ability to monitor the file system using FSEvents. This allows the capture of any changes that may occur during an installation, without having to take the time to create a snapshot of the hard drive.
2. Drag-and-Drop Package Building
   
   • Simply drag the software components and/or files to be distributed onto the Composer application window to create preconfigured software or file packages, quickly and easily.
3. Built-in Quick Look File Viewer
   
   • Easily see critical information about files and folders without having to locate them in the OS X Finder.
4. Developer Tools Independent
   
   • Composer 7 no longer requires the pre-installation of Apple's Developer Tools to create PKG-style packages.
5. Download Diffs
   
   • Composer allows the building of packages from software that is already installed and configured, using "PreInstalled Diff" files. These files, which can be created by the entire community, can be updated at anytime from inside Composer's interface.
6. Package Editor
   
   • Composer's Package Editor adds a range of productivity features, including the ability to manage pre-flight, post-flight and other scripts, create and modify localizations, easily identify new, modified or deleted files, and diff file creation.

These are a few new patches I wrote for Quartz Composer.
MIDI Global In Note :: This patch observes a specified MIDI Note number on a specified MIDI Channel, and outputs the Velocity and a boolean Gate signal.
MIDI Global Out Note :: This patch, when Gate is rising true, outputs a MIDI note-on message on a specified MIDI Channel with the specified Velocity. When Gate is falling false, a MIDI note-off message is sent.
Image With Composition :: This patch loads a Quartz Composer Composition (.qtz) file and renders it to an Image. (This is intended to replace functionality that was removed with the Mac OS X 10.4.7 update.)
File Type :: This patch provides the Uniform Type Identifier (UTI) of the specified file. For example, if the path to a QuickTime movie is specified, File Type outputs "com.apple.quicktime-movie".
MIDI Global Output CC :: This patch, when triggered, outputs a MIDI Custom Controller message on a specified MIDI Channel to all MIDI outputs.
MIDI Global Input CC :: This patch observes a specified MIDI Custom Controller on a specified MIDI Channel, and outputs the Custom Controller Value and a Value-changed trigger. Unlike the "MIDI Controllers" patch that comes with Quartz Composer, this patch doesnt require the user to manually select the "Observed MIDI Sources" individually for every controller/computer combination - so youre free to take your composition to a different machine and/or controller and jam without needing to hack the composition.
String With File :: This patch reads a file into a string.
String With URL :: This patch retrieves a URL into a string.
Document Info :: This patch returns some information about the zeroth Cocoa NSDocument.
