WASTE is a text editing library for Mac OS programmers: a piece of software that allows developers of Macintosh applications to add text display and editing features to their own programs. WASTE stands for WorldScript-Aware Styled Text Engine, although nowadays, that acronym is no longer accurate, since WASTE 3.0 no longer relies on WorldScript technology, but uses ATSUI instead.
Enhancements:
- Version 3.0 was completely rewritten from scratch to be fully Unicode-savvy.
- It is now based on ATSUI and Quartz (Core Graphics).
- However, its API is mostly compatible with WASTE 2.1, so it should be relatively painless for WASTE-using applications to adopt version 3.0.

Ekushey Unicode Bangla Keyboards for Mac OS X 0.1 is an application for including 2 unicode Bangla fonts and 2 keyboard layout. The fonts developed for the package are developed using Apple Advance Typography (AAT). So, these fonts work systemwide almost seamlessly. All Cocoa applications support AAT by default.
Some Carbon applications developed using Apple Type Services for Unicode Imaging (ATSUI) also support Ekusheys Unicode Bangla fonts and keyboard layouts. This is the first Bangla Unicode Bangla System that works properly under Mac OS X. Keyboard layouts included in this solution are: UniJoy and Rupali.
