ASCII Table is a utility for programmers, it is carbonised and runs under MacOS 8.6/9 and Mac OS X. I decided to write it because the System 6 style Desk Accessory, that I have been using for years, started crashing under Mac OS 9 and I couldnt find anything that ran natively under Mac OS X.
You can type characters on the keyboard and it will highlight that character on the table and display its ASCII code in decimal, hexadecimal and octal. You can also click on characters on the table which will exactly the same thing only you dont have to know the keyboard combination to type it.
Characters clicked and typed are also inserted into an editable field at the bottom. This can then be copied and pasted into other Applications. You may select a different font to be displayed from the font menu in the menu bar and all the characters in that font will be displayed in the table. The table is also re-sizable so that you can view the characters at larger sizes.

RISE character generator as the name implies is a character generator for the RISE RPG game. This program is written in Java.

Running the character generator is really very simple. Enter the necessary information when prompted and dont enter ridiculous values, and you should get along with the program fine.

If you enter a number into an input field, and you dont see any change in the window, press enter, return, tab, or click outside of the input field, and things will update.

GURPS Character Sheet is a WYSIWYG character sheet for the GURPS RPG.
A space has been provided for a portrait of your character.

Character exChange is a free and easy to use desktop application that helps you to easily change special characters into html- or UTF-8-entities.
Character exChange also creates simple html-formatting based upon text-files, alters html-characters for publishing code on websites and deletes line-numbers from code. The application reads and writes .txt - files and can be used as a simple text-editor.

ASCII (Pronounced ASKEEEE) stands for American Standard Code for Information Interchange. ASCII is a code for representing characters as numbers so that they can be stored in a computers memory.
For example, uppercase "A" would be stored as 65. Before ASCII, most computers had their own codes for storing letters. This made it difficult to exhange data between computers.
For example, computer number one represents the letter A as 42 and computer number two represents the letter Q as 42, then when a text file was transferred from computer number one to computer number two, all of the As would be replaced with Qs.
ASCII was proposed and accepted as a standard code for representing characters, which allowed computers to transfer text with each other. This made email possible.
Developers often need to find out the ASCII value of a character, or vice versa, and we were tired of searching for one of the many ASCII character tables that are in books or on print outs. We decided that it would be quicker and easier to have a small utility to turn to for this information.
ASCII Tools contains four windows. The main window contains an ASCII character table with values in decimal and hexadecimal, as well as quick conversion utilities for ASCII value to character, and ASCII character to value.
The developers found that if they were working on something that required us to turn to this utility many times, it would be easier if they had the utilities in global windows so that they would not have to keep switching between applications.
By selecting "Show Global Windows" from the "Windows" menu, you can have access to all of the features of ASCII tools from within your current application. No more switching back and forth.

Just drag in the text and click the button to get a character count. Dont really know why anyone would use it, but its faster than opening Word to get a character count.
