You need to delete the .zip extension, my zip program wasnt operating properly.

Mac OS X maintains a pseudo desktop database for each user. The data is stored in 3 files, and each has a backup file which is invisible.
Rebuild OSX Desktop is a small AppleScript that essentially forces the Finder to rebuild the desktop by trashing these files.
