Solver for Excel 2008 1.0

Solver for Excel 2008 1.0

Solver for Excel was built was built by Frontline Systems on both Macintosh and Windows. more>>

Solver for Excel 2008 1.0 was built by Frontline Systems on both Macintosh and Windows. For many years, it has Solver upgrades for Windows users, that have gotten more and more powerful over time -- but it hasn't been active on the Mac. It is now applying more development resources to the Macintosh, motivated by the Mac's resurgence in the market and the move to Intel processors. But the catalyst for this move has been Microsoft's Mac Excel team.

If you open a workbook with a Solver model that you created in Excel 2004, or in most other versions of Excel, the model should appear automatically in this dialog -- you can just click Solve.

Calgary Traffic WebCams 1.0

Calgary Traffic WebCams - Provides access to the roadside traffic webcams for Calgary more>> Euclid is a calculator and so much more. One of its unique features is that it preserves numbers in their natural state, rather than forcing everything into decimal form. For example, it remembers that 1/3 is 1/3, not 0.33333... Thus, (1/3) * 3 = 1, as it should (try this on most digital calculators and youre bound to get the incorrect 0.99999...
Euclid also supports matrix operations and sets.
25 March 2006
Euclid 2.0 released. Includes lots of new features, including support for sets and matrix operations. Euclid 2.0 contains 67 built-in functions!

BMRM 2.1

BMRM 2.1

Open source and scalable convex solver for many machine learning problems more>> Open source and scalable convex solver for many machine learning problems

BMRM is a modular, open source, and scalable convex solver for many machine learning problems cast in the form of regularized risk minimization problem.
BMRM is "modular" because the (problem-specific) loss function module is decoupled from the (regularization-specific) optimization module (e.g. quadratic programming or linear programming solvers), thus shorten the time to implement/prototype solutions to new problems.
Besides, the decoupling leads to easier parallelization of the loss function computation.

Main features:
- Binary classification: Hinge, Squared hinge, Huber-hinge, Logistic regression, Exponential, ROC Score, Fbeta Score
- Univariate regression: $epsilon$-insensitive, Huber robust, Least Mean Squares, Least Absolute Deviation
- Novelty detection (1-class SVM)
- Quantile regression
- Poisson regression
- Ranking: NDCG (normalized discounted cummulative gain)
- Graph Matching
- Sequence Segmentation and Classification

Burr Tools 0.3.1

Burr Tools 0.3.1

Burr Tools will help you solve a certain kind of puzzle more>>
Burr Tools will help you solve a certain kind of puzzle.
Namely puzzles that are made out of square or dice shaped units and whose solution also contains only rectangular aligned pieces.
Main features:
- Does nearly all that PuzzleSolver 3D which is
- You can enter all puzzles that are assembled out of dice shaped units
- Find assemblies for you puzzle
- Disassemble the found assembly them
- Show everything in a 3 dimensional image
- Animate how the puzzle has to be assembled
- Toggle the visibility of pieces in the solution to have a look at the inner workings of a puzzle. This is especially helpful for box packing puzzles
- Runs on Windows and Linux and probably is also compilable on MacOS
- You can specify which cubes to fill and which can be empty or full. PuzzleSolver 3D has only 2 modes. Either all cubes may be left empty in the solution, or the cubes that have an empty neighbor must be filled. BurrTools are more flexible here.
- More than one problem in one file (e.g. have several Soma Cube problems in the same file)
- Constraints to piece placements (like checkerboard)
- Group pieces together to tell the disassembler that they dont need to be taken apart this is necessary for puzzles like "Cube In Cage" where the cage can not be taken apart but has 3 movable pieces
- No limits to sizes and number of shapes. As long as your computer has the memory and you the patience the program will do it for you, even if it takes eons.
- Free as in beer. It doesnt cost you anything
- Free as in speech. The source is available, so you can do your own programming or help me improve continue improving the program in case I have to stop working on it.
- Save puzzles with solutions in compressed XML-files. This allows you to create puzzles with other means (like your own burrgrower, ...)
- A library is provided that helps you to write your own software for puzzle design and analysis.
Enhancements:
- The assembler sometimes didnt find existing solutions. This happened when the total of all voxels defined by lower ranges was larger than the number of normal voxels in the result
- The solver did abort in cases when piece ranges were used and some pieces didnt have a mirror partner piece
- A Possible crash with very larger grids
- A missing symmetry in the triangle grid
- A crash in the sphere grid when empty (no used spheres) pieces were used
- A crash when animating a solution while the solver is running and that solution has already been dropped due to a limit on the number of solutions

JSokoApplet 1.16

JSokoApplet 1.16

JSokoApplet is a Java applet for playing the game of Sokoban more>>
JSokoApplet is a Java applet for playing the game of Sokoban. It features path finding, auto push, auto solving, undo/redo, deadlock detection, and more
JSokoApplet project is written in Java. You must have Java installed to start the game.
The game:
"Sokoban" is a puzzle game invented in Japan 1982 by Hiroyuki Imabayashi. The rules are very simple but the game itself is not.
The Rules
The object of the game is to push boxes to specially marked positions in a level. The boxes can only be pushed, never pulled, and only one can be pushed at a time. The player can only move on "free" (= no wall and no box) fields.
A level is solved if all boxes have been pushed to specially marked positions.
One field can just be occupied by only one of the following levelelements at a time: the player, a box, a wall
Just start the game. You easily will learn the rules by playing the game.
The computer will help you in positions where you lost the possibility to solve the level (for example, if you pushed a box in a corner) by showing you the message that the level isnt solvable anymore.
Note: Recognizing positions that are unsolvable is very difficult. Hence the computer just shows this message for some kinds of unsolvable positions.
How to Play
You can move the player by using the arrow keys or by using the mouse (or both)
Keyboard Functions
Move the player: Arrow keys
Undo last move: [Delete] or [Backspace]
Redo move from history: [Insert]
Restart level: [Enter]
Previous level: [Page up]
Next level: [Page down].
Mouse Functions
Left-click on a position to let the player automatically move to this position.
Left-click on a box to select it then left-click the target position. The player will automatically push the selected box to the specified position. Unselect a box by clicking on it again.
A click of the right mousebutton will undo the last done activity.
Enhancements:
- When a box is marked for pushing, the reachable squares of this box are highlighted.
- There are two new solvers (for very small levels only): A solver for moves with best push solutions, and a solver for pushes with best moves solutions.
- There is a new skin and new levels in this release.

Diagnil 1.2

Diagnil 1.2

Diagnil - solve diagramless crossword puzzles more>>
Diagnil is a nice tool designed to help the solvers of diagramless crossword puzzles. It supports the process of solving puzzles using externally provided clues, such as those distributed in print form.

The diagramless puzzle is a crossword variant where only word clues are provided; word locations are not disclosed. (If a grid is supplied, it is completely blank.) Solving a diagramless puzzle requires determining not only the words but also their correct placement on the grid.

Despite the ubiquity of standard crosswords, the diagramless variety remains much less popular. Why this is so can be debated. One plausible reason is that diagramless puzzles are viewed as overly difficult.

Though not suitable for beginners, they are easier to solve than is often presumed.

A second, more justifiable reason is that the solving mechanics can be tedious, especially when working on paper.

Although the intellectual challenge of diagramless puzzles is appealing, the awkwardness of frequently redrawing to converge on the correct word layout can sap the enjoyment from what should be recreation. While brilliant solvers are undaunted, mere mortals wear out their erasers.
