Mac Walker 1.1 is widely known as a simple but beautiful free ScreenSaver for MacOS X. It shows 3 three-dimensional laptops PowerBook G4 walking in a three-dimensional space (and opening/closing the screen). MacWalker is a freeware, so you can download it for free and install it on your machine at no cost.

In order to install MacWalker you have copy the file MacWalker.saver to your boot disk, within the folder (Home)/Library/Screen Savers/ If the folder (Home)/Library/Screen Savers/ doesn't exist yet, please create it. Then open your System Preference panel, go to the subpanel "ScreenSaver" and choose "MacWalker" from the screensavers list. Press the button Test to see the final result. That's all.

Requirements:

• PowerMacintosh
• MacOS X 10.3 Panther only. It doesn't work on Tiger.

Chicago Crime Watch Widget monitors a given Chicago city block with data from http://www.chicagocrime.org. Events are displayed and linked to the Chicago Crime website where more information and a Google Map may be found.
This widget can monitor any of the city blocks serviced by http://chicagocrime.org - one of the first Google Maps mashups. Due to the infrequent updates to the crime data, this widget caches data for a minimum of six hours, and it checks to see whether it should update automatically, when the Dashboard layer is shown.
The widget also checks network connectivity to prevent hangups.
As a Chicago resident, I find this widget to be pretty useful, and I hope that others will as well. I have a couple of improvements that I would like to make, but in the meantime, enjoy! (And I promise the widget is much better designed than this website!)

MacMerc 1.0.1 provides a diversified and effective graphic wrapper for the Mercurial version control system. It is not intended to completely replace command line use of Mercurial, only to ease the most common Mercurial operations.

When you save a file and get the "Replace existing filename?" dialog, this extension will make the Replace button, rather than the Cancel button, be the default. Requires System 7 or later. Will not slow down your Mac.
On PowerPC systems running Mac OS 8.5 or later, some applications use a different style of dialog, which Replace! can also modify.
Enhancements:
- Fixes a bug in this case: the Replace button looked like the default, but pressing Return still activated the Cancel button.

Text Capture FKEY applies various patches to other applications or to desk accessories. This approach gives more control over conflicts and memory bloat than extending application behavior by adding extensions to the system.

The patching process adds certain resources to the application. No existing resources are modified, so it is easy to remove the patches if desired. It is not compatible with PopupFuncs, since they use the same mechanism to get run-time from the system.

WARNING! Text Editor Patches should not be applied to a Carbon application. When running under Mac OS 8 or 9, it makes the application crash on Quit. And when running on Mac OS X, the patches simply dont work.

Patches include:
• Make it possible to paste a picture into a SimpleText document.
• Add a windows menu to any application, even the Finder.
• Add a menu of often-used documents, such as stationery files.
• Add a simple form of word-wrapping to a text editor.
• Make the page-up and page-down keys work everywhere.
• Define keystrokes for various TeX macros (contributed by Juan L. Varona).
