ArtOptimizer 2.3 is addressed at a very niche workflow automation solution for reducing the size of images linked to Adobe Illustrator document by eliminating excessive image data. SunPosition Widget is a small tool that will help you connect to the SunPosition database and return calculations for: Sunrise, Sunset, Civil Dawn, Civil Dusk, Sunrise azimuth, Sunset azimuth, Latitude, Longitude and Magnetic declination for the selected location.
The SunPosition widget will plot the suns path at 15 minute intervals for the selected date and location. Members can access the data printout page for that current selection directly from the widget. Azimuth, altitude calculations follow the sun through its path.
This widget is free to everyone, although SunPosition members get full access to all 48,532 location entries while non members have limited access to approximately 8,000 locations.
Every time you make a selection a spinner will appear in the top right corner of the widget to show data is being loaded, wait until the spinner stops before continuing each step. Data normally loads very fast, this of course depends on your connection but in tests it takes between 0.5 to 1 second per query with 1 Mb ADSL.
The widget has a built in mechanism to cache data, depending on the type of data this cache will be stored for a set time, so if you load the locations for United States then this information will be available without having to reconnect to the server for 72 hours, therefore making the widget even faster to use.
